Handicap parking Disneyland/CA Adventure

Hello all. We are all headed to CA Adventure tomorrow morning. My mother is handicap and will be renting a wheelchair at the park. My question is - I understand there are no trams in service, so will it be easier for her to get dropped off at Downtown Disney or just let the parking attendant know that she has a handicap placard - and hopefully that is close enough a walk to the main gate until she gets the wheelchair.
