A question about the hand stamps you get when leaving one of the parks.

We've visited numerous times, and have always gotten a hand stamp when we leave. However, whenever we return to the parks, we still use our park hopper tickets. No one has ever asked - in all our trips - to see the stamp.

Why do they give them to us?

They stamp your hand to make sure that you don't give your ticket to someone else. I have seen them deny entry to a person without a hand stamp so keep getting them!

The hand stamp is to verify that the same person is using the PH to gain admission to the next park. Each park has a different hand stamp each day and the CM at the turnstyle can quickly check with the blacklight above the pass reader. Most times they can check without you even noticing. You still need your park pass to re-enter, so you need both the same pass and the appropriate hand stamp.

If you ever had a problem with your ticket the hand stamp is one way to verify that you used the ticket earlier. The computer will have a record of where the ticket was used and your hand stamp will verify that you were at that park on that day.

In my experience if you make it from one park to another fairly quickly - ie mgm to epcot the computer will "alert" the CM to check your handstamp. I have also been double checked when entering a 3rd park in a single day.

I was behind a very confused group of people entering EPCOT last year and they were talking about using family members PH's. Only half the party had the handstamps and those that did not were denied admission to the park.

So unless you have an AP or another form of admission that requires biometrics just get a hand stamp.
