Hand baggage

I'm flying to Germany this year - the first time I've flown since the hand baggage restrictions. This is probably a silly question but BA state just one piece of hand baggage each so will they object if I put my handbag inside my other bag?

If I do this at what point can I take it out again? Will I need to be carrying one bag onto the plane or just through security?

Thanks for any help,

Libby

I can't see it being a problem putting your handbag in your hand luggage but I think it will have to stay in the hand luggage. So you best bet would to be just put your essentials from your hand bag in your hand luggage.

I just pop my handdbag in my hand luggage for security and have never had a problem. I leave it in there for the flights as well as I always put my luggage at my feet.

Hi, its fine, we did it when we went to paris in March.:)

I put my flight essentials (money, book, MP3, sweets etc) in my hand bag and put that into my trolley case hand luggage to go through security and when I get on the aircraft I take the handbag out and put it on the floor under the seat in front for easy access, and the trolley case stays in the overhead locker. I have never had any problems doing this and have done it for years.

Thanks for your advice, I'll put my handbag in my other bag before security. Take it out when we're hanging around having coffee etc, and then put it back in before we board the flight.
