I'm flying to NY in 18 days. I was wondering if we are now allowed books on the flights as I've bought books and don't want to be stuck with nothing to read. I know I can't take liquids so will have to buy my perfume in NY instead of duty free. But any other suggestions?

I`m fairly sure books are now fine and it seems to be more liquid based items that aren`t acceptable. What about lipsalve - can we take that?

Books are now fine and dandy to take, for which I am eternaly happy, quick dance to celebrate

You can't take any type of liquid or gel on the plane so no lip salve, vasaline, those eye mask things with blue gel in... you get the idea. I was wondering if wet wipes would be allowed but I'm guessing not.

i am also asking about baby wet wipes as im taking infant. surly you can i cant imagine my infant nappy change without wipes.... :furious:

That would be an.... interesting experience sure enough. I really hope the wipes are allowed on board as it's going to make things allot more pleasant for everyone (I pity the poor soul stuck next to me on a plane for 9 hours without me being able to have a quick once over with a deo-wipe) but with the checks being so strict these days I'm not holding out much hope. After all, it's relatively easy to squeeze some liquid out of some of those wipes, not much I admit but you can still do it.

I think you are allowed wipes with an infant for nappy changes but otherwise no. Not sure if that's changed recently.

Flying out of the US, you were allowed to buy duty-free liquids, but they are transported onto the plane by airport workers, and you collect them when you get off the plane; I don't know if this helps at all. :confused3
