Quick question about these...I thought I read something about this before, but I can't find it now.

Do I remember reading that there aren't as many castle projections during Hallowishes as there are in HEA? Asking because we attended our first (and only) HEA dessert party with TT seating back in April, and the castle view we had was almost completely obstructed by a tree.:sad1:

I know I've read that many people feel that the Hallowishes party isn't necessary because you can find viewing spots much easier than during HEA. However, we'll be attending MNSSHP the night after we've had a very early flight to MCO and attended DAH, and will have done the 7 am TS AP event that morning...so I think we will be exhausted and will need the seating! We also won't really be trying to ride anything other than Haunted Mansion...so we'll pretty much just be there for the fireworks, parade, Hocus Pocus show, trick-or-treating, and food! We don't plan to wait in line to try to meet any characters either.

We're old enough (and tired enough, lol) that the cost isn't as important to us as getting a seat, so long as the view is good (or as long as we're not really missing anything despite an obstructed view). What do you all think -- should be do the dessert party or not?

TIA for any opinions/words of wisdom! :)

We did the Hallowishes dessert party with terrace seating during the second MNSSHP this year. We LOVED it! You are correct. Hallowishes does not have nearly as many projections as HEA. We were a party of two and ended up with a table by the railing with a slight tree obstruction and it didn't bother us. The night we went, they were starting to seat people at 8:45 pm. We had gotten in line about 20 minutes earlier and were able to have some input on where we wanted to sit (the tables were set up for possible rain. That's how we ended up at the railing with a slightly obstructed view). They may have changed the seating procedure since then (there was still a little confusion on our night as it was only the second party of the season), so hopefully someone who has been more recently could give you a better strategy as to when to line up to be seated soon after opening. The desserts and drinks were fantastic. We loved having seats as we had been in the park for about 9 hours before the fireworks started and we were ready to sit! We have done the HEA and the MVMCP plaza garden party and the MNSSHP terrace party was by far our favorite. If we go back again next year, it's a must-do for us.

Thanks for this! I went ahead and booked it based on your recommendation. :)

Anyone have any suggestions for where to try to sit? Or is that pre-determined by the CMs? For the party we went to in April, we were led to a specific table by a CM. Since we were one of the first groups there, we assumed that if we had a choice of tables they would have offered to let us choose.

Hopefully someone who has gone to one of the more recent parties will chime in as they were definitely still working out kinks when we went on 8/24. We were the second party to be seated and while the CM pointed to a suggested table, I definitely could have picked another one if I didn't like the first table offered. We took the one offered because it was by the railing and out of the rain. We sat by the railing to the left as you walk into the party. If you chose a table more central on the railing, you might have a better view. You may want to post this question on the dedicated MNSSHP thread for this year as there are a few people on the thread who have done this party this year. I hope you have a great time!
