We are planning to be in Disney for Halloween. Has any one done the Mickey's not So Scary Halloween Party? And is it worth it for a 4 and 6 year old? Any other must do suggestions would be helpful!!!

Yes ! ! ! !! My DD5 had time of her life. Going again this year. (last year she was 4).

go go go!

How young is too young? I am taking my kids on their first trip. They will be 1 1/2 baby girl and my son will be 2 1/2. Do you think you think that he is too young? She probably is but I can always have my husband take my son to MNSSHP!?

I took my son when he was 18 months old last year and he had a blast, although he was crashed out before Hallow Wishes and did not flinch when the fireworks went off. We are going back again this Sept when he will be 2 1/2 along with my niece 4 and nephew 6.

A few tips:
- be sure your costume is comfortable and cool (Sept/Oct is still pretty warm)
- If you are a pin collector they usually sell special edition pins which are only available during the party.

We will be there for Halloween this year as well and are not doing the party. Personally, I just have a hard time paying extra for something while there. Our neighbors went last year and did not like it due to the crowds.

When my twins were 4, we attended MNSSHP. You can have fun there regardless of age, but do be prepared for huge crowds! Also, the kids were a bit scared during the "headless horseman" part of the parade, but got over it pretty quickly.

We went to MNSSHP in 2008 and 2009 (DD was 4 and 5). Both times, we all had a blast, and really enjoyed the trick-or-treating, the characters, the parade, the fireworks, and being able to ride everything we wanted without lines.

Here were my DD's spoils from 2009:

and here is one from the Jafar meet-and-greet (Jafar is my DD's favorite character of all time). She loved meeting him.

If you can swing it, you should go (remember that DVC members get a discount on tickets).

I LOVE this picture - it is so CUTE!!!

We were there for Halloween in 2009 and it was WONDERFUL!! We would do it again in a heartbeat..... that is if we have enought points.:rotfl2:

Nerds? Bottle Caps? Hot Tamales????

We went in Oct 2009 and didn't get any of those!

We went in September...so maybe by October all the good stuff was gone??? ;) We also got a TON of raisins (and, believe me, the CMs were workin' it to give those away). :rotfl2:

Crystal- Great photos!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Also thanks for all the info...I think we will try to bring both kiddos!!

I am going to Disney in Sept. Anyone know when they will have the dates released for the Halloween party???

It should be out in May. Thats when I saw it last year! Usually they have it a few times a week in Sept through October.

LOVE MNSSHP! It's so much fun. We're always there in Oct, but only once for the 31st. We still chose to go a few days earlier because half the fun for us is to be in the park without the crowds.

I think on Halloween night the kids can trick or treat in the lobbies of the resorts, too.
