Halloween Time Superthread 2019: "Oogie Boogie Bash" Party to Be Held in DCA ONLY! and Other Halloween Time Information

We have gone to the parties the last couple of years and we aren't going this year...it's fun, but honestly the best part is the fireworks (which they aren't doing at the party), and it costs 2+ hours of party time to sit and hold your spot on the curb for a decent view. I have little kids and they like it for the trick or treating, but they can trick or treat anywhere. We have fun when we go but I don't necessarily think it's worth the money anymore (especially b/c halloween screams really is the best part.) Anyway, I wouldn't be that upset.

Please report back with lots of details, updates, etc.!
I feel like all of us who have been hanging on in this thread since January should meet at the giant pumpkin for a group photo at some point once Halloween Time officially starts!
I will also try my best and report back. My plan is to get there around 6 or 7, and try and stay late. I always tire out after fireworks. I’ve maybe stayed past 10 like twice in all my years of coming to Disneyland (and I’ve been coming since I was a kid).

My husband and I are taking a trip to San Diego in October and decided to add 4 days to the trip to visit Disneyland (never been).

Went to the Disney website to start planning and the 2 Halloween party days (Oogie Boogie) that we will be there are sold out.....super bummed.

Any chance they sometimes have a few tickets released day of at the parks? I know that’s a long shot but thought I’d ask.

See the information below on getting tickets to a sold out Halloween Party:

For anyone trying to get tickets to a sold out Halloween Party:

1) Call the ticket line ASAP to see if there are any tickets available for the date you want. Maybe or maybe not -- but you won't know until you call.
2) If you are local, try asking at the ticket booths. Sometimes when a party sells out online, there are tickets still available at the booths, not many, but some. Again, worth a shot. But, be aware, some parties have been sold out for while now (see the first post on page one of this thread for the dates each party sold out online), so there may not be any tickets left for those dates.
3) Stay on site the day of your party. In the past, the on site hotels have reserved some (not a lot) of day of party tickets for their guests to be sold first thing in the morning (early!) first come, first served.
4) Choose a different date that is still available and move fast to buy your tickets.
5) Don't do DCA with the OBB, but do a day at DL which will still have all the Halloween Time decorations, special food items, HMH, and Halloween Screams fireworks.

Whatever you do, do not buy OBB tickets through a third party vendor. Disney does NOT authorize Halloween party ticket sales through third party vendors, so the risk of getting scammed and ripped off is real. We get reports every year of people being turned away from the gates with scam tickets. Don't be one of these people and don't support the scammers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you luckyrabbit!! I just called Disney and was able to purchase 2 tickets for a “sold out” party! So excited!

This will probably be our one and only time to experience Halloween at Disney (usually a WDW visitor and October is wayyy too HOT), so very happy to get to experience the party!

So the Halloween food guide will be coming out on the 6th per guest services. Better late than never.

Just called and got tickets to the Sept 24th party. So SOLD OUT is not necessarily sold out lol!
Arg I'm so jealous! I called about the 26th and was told it is completely sold out, no hope unless we try at our hotel the morning of, which we intend to do.

Also ... try to call back again another day as they may release some tickets. The gal who helped me said they definitely did not have any inventory showing yesterday but it was there today ... who knows.

Will do. We only need one more ticket. My friend failed to heed my warnings about this! ;)

Hopefully they'll post it online along with having hard copies in the parks!

So I'm looking at menu's right now to determine where I want to eat when we go in 2 weeks. I'm currently on Award Wieners and it's showing their Halloween offerings and says "Starting September 6th." I haven't checked other places yet, but I'm hoping I can see some of the treats and specialty foods before they "officially" announce them tomorrow!! "Oogie's Worms & Dirt Funnel Cake Fries" at Award Wieners. Yum!

Update: I'm now looking at Bengal Barbecue and it's also showing the food options for Halloween!!! Yay!

So, for those of you who've gone to events before like Halloween - since I'm going on 27th - will there be any event-exclusive merch still available? I really want that OogieBoogie Popcorn bucket, and I know I could buy online early, but shipping to Canada just kills me.

Sunday, 10/27, is now sold out online. 6 parties left!

For those wondering about tickets to sold out parties still being sold by phone:
Disney allots a certain number of tickets to be sold online, at the booths, by phone, and at the on site hotels (morning of the parties to on site guests only). Once the online tickets are gone, then tickets in the remaining allotments can still be sold by phone or at the booths. When those are gone, the party is truly sold out. On the morning of the parties, a very limited number of tickets are usually sold to on site guests at the on site hotels, first come first served. If a number of comp tickets get returned unused, Disney can choose to sell them. No one knows exactly how many tickets are sold for any given party date. This is not information that Disney releases to the general public.
