Well we’re back from another fab week in the world...it’s been a week... and I think I’m still full! My shenanigan partner (disney sister) and I stayed at Pop Century this time around with the free quick service dining plan.

We had a great trip, packed with fun, including MNSSHP, F&W Festival (first timers), HHN/IOA, and a Hard Rock Live Concert. Join me as I reminisce about the yummy treats enjoyed over our Halloween Vacation…pictures abound!

First arrival at your resort is the best, isn’t it? I love the anticipation of room assignment and first view of the grounds. We were very pleased with our 2nd floor lake view location in the 70’s of POP, but didn’t spend too much time admiring the surroundings…we were starved!

We had a room only ressie for one night, so no dining plan for dinner; this meal was OOP. And I knew exactly what I wanted: a Disney burger! I love disney burgers…I don’t know what they put in them but they are good burgers. I selected the angus cheeseburger.

The fries actually were kinda gross, cold and softish, but the burger was great!

Dsis selected the cheese steak wrap. This was heaped with meat, cheese, and peppers.

She said it was very good though slightly greasy. It didn’t look too appealing to me, but she seemed to enjoy it.

I had to get this guy for dessert….

I don’t know what it is about the worms and dirt, but when I see it I just have to have it…I guess it’s the kid in me. :goodvibes It’s an OK dessert, pudding and Oreo crumbs with gummy worms… more fun to look at than to actually eat…your typical pudding.

We ate fairly frequently at the POP foodcourt throughout our stay, and though the selection was nice it, more often than not, was super loud and crowded. Needed a good eye to find a table!

Great start, cant wait to read the rest! Headed up there in 5 days and your review is getting me more excited to go!

After checking in for our package the next morning, we headed to the food court for some breakfast and to pick up our refillable mugs. There were a lot of breakfast options, but we both ended up selecting the same entrée: PoP waffle with strawberry topping and whipped cream.

Very yummy! The waffle was warm, soft, fluffy, and huge! The strawberries were fresh and coated in a lightly sweet strawberry sauce. It was delicious!

We both got bottled water as our drink to take with to the park, but I didn’t get a picture of that. ;) Actually, water is what we grabbed from most of our CS stops, and it worked out well.

EPCOT is our favorite park and we were super psyched for the food and wine festival. It did not disappoint!! There were so many good smells wafting through the air in the WS that we were glad to have so many snack credits to use up throughout our stay. You can get a pretty phenomenal value out of a snack credit this way too. All the offerings from the kiosks were snack credits.. except of course the alcohol.

Our first stop was Germany.

This pretzel dog was really tasty. I was a little leery of tasting it, as it reminds me of a scene in the movie ‘Nothing But Trouble’ with Dan Aykroyd and Demi Moore. If you’ve seen it you know what I mean! BUT…I loved this thing. The mustard on the side is slightly spicy and compliments the sausage nicely. It was really very good, so much so that we got it again later in the trip.

We also tried the apple strudel.

I really enjoyed this as well. It’s pretty sweet, but that’s always fine with me! The caramel sauce drizzled around it was good too. I had to restrain myself from becoming an embarrassment and licking the plate.

I took this picture of a pineapple because I thought it was cool, though now I'm wondering if it's real... I hope I didn’t take a pic of fake fruit. :rotfl:

Tonight was MNSSHP…lots of fun, I highly recommend it! We didn’t want a large meal before the party, so we ate dinner at Casey’s. Though it’s not my favorite, Dsis requested this CS. I was interested in trying one of their new specialty dogs anyway so it was fine with me.

Here’s Dsis dog…be prepared it looks very sad.

She likes her hot dogs plain... weird, I know. The new roll for the hot dogs is a little too large as you can see, but she liked her meal.

I chose the Chicago dog.

511cebd8.jpg

It was pretty good, better than the hot dog I had here 2 years ago…BUT again the bread is a little out of control. And that’s saying something for me…I usually like a pretty high bread-to-meat ratio. I made sure to grab cheese sauce to dip for the fries…cheese sauce generally makes everything better, don’t you think?

We saved our cracker jack for later (I have to say when I did eat it, it was pretty icky

Here are my spoils from the Halloween party….pretty nice assortment of candy!

We slept in the next morning and headed to the food court for some lunch around 1130.

Dsis tried the veggie calzone with side salad.

She liked it. It was stuffed with a ton of cheese and peppers. The salad was tossed in vinaigrette

I couldn’t resist another burger. This time an angus bacon cheese burger.

caff0476.jpg

They added lettuce and tomato and onion this time. (These toppings are put on per your request behind the counter). Delicious burger! The macaroni salad I subbed for fries was pretty good too. Its vinegar based with chopped tomato and onion.

For dessert Dsis grabbed a sugar cookie.

555541e8.jpg

She loves sugar cookies, in fact they are her favorite disney snack... but she didn’t love this one. She was hoping it would taste like the ones she usually grabs from the mod food courts (the large ones with the mickey sprinkles) but I guess it just wasn’t up to par. She swore it had a hint of lemon flavor, which she hates. This is from a person who gets upset if there is a lemon wedge in ice water…so she wasn’t happy!

I wanted to try the famous tie dye cheese cake.

b6607818.jpg

It was good, but I liked it better eating it apart. The bottom is red velvet and the top is cheesecake. Both were good separately, but I would have preferred just the cheesecake. It’s fun to look at and eat anyway!

We spent the rest of the day in EPCOT. When we made it to the WS it was time to snack!

First up was the Chicken Chipotle Sausage from Canada.

33f421ed.jpg

Tasty! It was spicy but not too much so, and the corn polenta underneath was delish! The sausage from Germany I think is better, but this was still very good.

Next we tried the Lobster and Scallop Fisherman’s pie from Ireland.

e3212753.jpg

This was good too…a little rich though. There were large chunks of scallop and lobster mixed in mashed potatoes and some sort of butter tomato sauce.

Also from Ireland we tried the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake.

f4d95f9f.jpg

This was too chocolaty for me but Dsis loved it. The lava part was poured on top of the cake since it was such a small portion.

In France we picked up the milk chocolate crème Brule

fa73320c.jpg

This was only OK…it tasted like a sub-par crème Brule. I don't recommend.

Dsis picked up this little guy in Belgium: A Godiva iced coffee.

2cdf5461.jpg

This was Amazing! I don’t even like coffee, but thought it was sooo good. We ended up getting this 3 times throughout the trip!

In America a pretzel craving hit.

Jalapeño and cheese for me. Not too spicy and very tasty.

5ae2933a.jpg

Regular soft pretzel for Dsis.

734bb89d.jpg

How cute is this with the Mickey head!? Both pretzels were great.

For dinner I had the Turkey Ciabatta from POP. This came with chips or pasta salad.

0acb0ddd.jpg

I really liked the bread and the turkey was fresh and yummy, but there was a dressing on the sandwich that I didn’t like.

Dsis had the shrimp lo mien.

95d2b329.jpg

She rated this as fair. The noodles tasted like regular spaghetti and didn’t have that Chinese noodle flavoring so she wasn’t thrilled. There were plenty of fresh shrimp though!

For dessert I grabbed a specialty cupcake. POP had a lot of Halloween themed cupcakes to choose from…they were all cute. I chose the ghost because it was vanilla.

33331a55.jpg

Very tasty. My only complaint was that the orange frosting was orange flavored.

Dsis chose a blueberry muffin.

1cb0b243.jpg

Excellent muffin, fresh with lots of blueberries.

For Breakfast the next day at the POP food court I had the egg burrito.

8d4fc8be.jpg

This had egg, bacon and cheese wrapped in a soft tortilla shell…It was very good and super filling. The potatoes were undercooked though, and not that great.

Dsis had another waffle this time with bacon and a sausage patty.
f768cc0c.jpg

She slathered it in butter and loved it!

Lunch was at the Magic Kingdom. CHH is one of our favorite CS stops.

We both grabbed the fish and shrimp combo.

6a8152ed.jpg

The shrimp are delicious. Huge juicy and lightly breaded. I really enjoyed the fish too, though Dsis didn’t find it very flavorful. I grabbed apple slices as my side and Dsis had the fries.

dc557d04.jpg

I love that I can get a huge apple juice for my drink here.

Dessert was the apple crisps.

Yummy! I love these things!!
