Sorry not to go to the Halloween superthread, but I had a very specific question raised by what I read in that thread so I thought I'd ask out in the open:

Is it true that the Mickey Halloween party on the Tuesday after Columbus Day is packed? And that the entire day is packed? If our schools are out the week of Columbus Day, would it be better to skip early in the week and come to the Friday party instead?

I presume a Friday party will always be more crowded than the Tuesday, but that may not be true in this particular instance. Any wisdom from experience would be most appreciated!

We have gone to the Halloween Party on Tuesday after Columbus Day. It was crowded but manageable. These parties have become very popular and you can expect every party to be crowded.

You might also want to remember that a lot of Arizona schools have Fall Break the week of Columbus Day and families head over to Disneyland, so, yes, it is also crowded during the day that week as well.

All of the parties have the potential to become packed. All of the parties have busy areas in the park, and not so busy areas.

Perceptions of how busy a party was are not good indicators for making decisions.

Columbus day may be the day of a Monday Party.

Thanks for the info. I thought I had read once that the parties were actually not very crowded at all, because the number of tickets sold was limited. I guess that has changed?

Oh well, perhaps a visit in February would be more appropriate.

The number of tickets sold are limited, but it is still crowded. Disney will sell however many tickets needed to make money.

For the most part, every party has the same number of tickets sold. So the number of guests at the party is pretty much the same as others. Now tickets for certain dates (the frist friday, halloween & likely columbus day) will sell out faster & Fridays will be more popular than Tuesdays.

We went last year in mid-October on a Friday and did not find it to be too terriblly crowded.

We went to the Halloween party on the Tuesday after Columbus Day last year. The party itself wasn't crowded. We mainly rode rides and most were only a 5 to 10 minute wait. The park was pretty busy between 3:00 and 6:00 since people with regular tickets stay until 6, and people for the party can get in at 3.

Thanks again for the advice. I will keep looking for info on how many tickets are sold and assume that each party will sell out.
