A article on mice chat says the party is going to be at DCA this year?
I know it has been there in the past but wouldn't that mean no Hallowishes and what about the awesome parade that they had last year??

What would they have as special entertainment to make it worth the extra money?

I loved it last year and have a trip booked for this year but not sure I want to go if this is true.

For those who went to the party at DCA in past years what was there to do?

MHP has not had Hallowishes fireworks, but has had Halloween Screams. If the party does move to DCA (which is only a rumor at this time), it seems probable that a special WOC might be created just for the event. The parade could still be shown on the DCA parade route (although that is a much longer parade route, so the dancers and horses would have to train for it especially). When the parties were at DCA before, they weren't nearly as popular as they are now, so there wasn't as much to do. Disney knows how popular the parties are now, so it will be very interesting to see what they decide to do.

It doesn't seem worth it all to me I really hope they don't move it.

I can't even imagine it. I've only been to the ones at DL and riding the Haunted Mansion is a must do for us at the party. I'm sure we will adapt and I imagine they will be able to sell more tickets this way, which is probably the only thing they care about.

I read this on micechat yesterday as well. I so wish they don't do this. There is so much more at DL than DCA. This is just so disappointing if it actually happens.

I would also be sad if they discontinued Halloween Screams. That was my favorite fireworks show at Disneyland. I think it would possible to move the new parade over to DCA (yes, the parade would need to be re-timed for the longer route, but at least there is a parade route in DCA). I would be curious to see if and where things like the Cadaver Dans would move (the dry ice/fogged RoA made a great back drop).

At this point, this is just a rumor. There have been rumors about the party moving to DCA for several years now, so until DLR announces something, I'll just chock this up as something that could happen (but so far hasn't).

I would be disappointed as well. It will be our first Halloween trip and we were really looking forward to it. While we like DCA, we don't love it. Being that it's a short trip, we had it all planned out with just one day in DCA and finishing off with WOC dessert party and the other 2 days in DL (one would be party night, one non). I guess we will have to wait and see...

This is exactly what we were going to do too so hopefully they don't mess with our plans lol

I would like to see the move to DCA, if they keep the Halloween Screams fireworks over at DL and just show them on weekends for all guests. I think DCA has a lot of potential for the Halloween Party, and a lot more space to add some fun party-specific activities. A Halloween WOC would be fantastic, and with the longer parade route, finding a spot to watch would be much easier. They'd definitely need to significantly step up on the atmosphere and decor over there though!

I would love this!! If the party was at DCA but Halloween screams was still at DL on select nights.

I enjoyed the parties at both DL and DCA. There are great places for treat trails and space to do some fun parties and activities at DCA.

Either way Halloween time is a great time at DL/DCA.

Hopefully this is just a rumor but I wouldn't even consider going if it were at DCA, there just isn't enough to do in my opinion.

I would prefer it stayed at DL, I think the atmosphere works well around ROA/Haunted Mansion. I think it would be hard to recreate at DCA.
I personally prefer fireworks to WOC and love Halloscreams.
There is nearly 1/2 the attractions at DCA and with TOT rethemed it no longer fits, TSMM could have a Toy Story of Terror overlay, not sure I can see any other overlays though, maybe a whole different film at soarin?
Would miss having Haunted Masion and Ghost a galaxy though.

Hey even better have a 2 park party!

I read about this yesterday as well. I think chances are pretty likely they'll be moving it to California Adventure this year. If (when) they do move it to CA, they will really need to step it up to make it worth it for people. We've been planning on 2-3 parties again this year, but if it doesn't look as good as Disneyland's version we probably will do only 1. They will probably make Halloween Screams available to general admission.

I remember going to one of the Halloween parties in CA when I was pretty young, but it was nothing like they have now with the atmosphere and fireworks. I wish they would leave it at Disneyland!

Well, if the do move it to DCA, they need to lower the price of the tickets by $20, decorate the whole park to the 9s, down to the smallest detail! Have Halloween themed foods/treats exclusive for each land. Hand out more than 3 pieces of candy on the trails. Bring back the pumpkin carvers, etc. perhaps on the Boardwalk, Show the Nightmare Before Christmas or some kind of Halloween show at It's A Bug's Life, drawing Halloween characters in Animation Academy. The cost of the tickets do need to be dropped by a significant amount if moved to DCA.

I completely agree!! Halloween Screams and RDCT have been my favorite fireworks for years now and I think if they moved the party to DCA and got rid of HS, that would be the end of a lot of people's desire to go to the parties. Disney has been steadily taking away things from MHP over the years (although they gave us a way better parade last year) and has been upping the price. If they decide to move to DCA, I'm not sure how they can justify the price to people. :confused3

I like the idea of Halloween themed filmed in the Bugslife theater. Not a whole movie, but snippets or some of those old Disney cartoons would be cool.

I can't honestly see them dropping the price even if they move the parties over to DCA. My guess is that moving the party over to DCA would cost more (than keeping it in DL) because they'd have to develop new entertainment offerings (e.g., a Halloween themed WoC), add more Halloween elements to DCA (e.g., decorations), and figure out how to reconfigure the existing elements that they wanted to continue presenting to fit into DCA. On the other hand, I could see them advertising one of the party perks as exclusive access to GotG during the party...

I went when they had the parties at DCA, and it was really fun! We got TONS of candy, the wait times were all really short, and Screamin' was a ton of fun to do in the dark (only time I've ever been able to ride it in the dark). This was before Cars Land opened, so now they also have RSR which is TONS of fun in the dark. No World of Color at that point, but I can see them doing a Halloween themed one. They did the Halloween fireworks at DL for all guests, and had a Halloween parade at DCA.
