Halloween Cruisers, how's the weather?

Our family has been thinking about an October 2005 cruise. We have never cruised this time of year and I was wondering if it is a good time to cruise. What special "halloween treats" are onboard? parties?:thewave:

halloween 2003 was tremendous! great weather, and "Ginger" here on the DIS organized a Trick or Treat for all the DIS kids! It was fantastic, good thing too because DCLs attempt was laughable compared to our private one!

Typically, is October weather good? Does DCL have costume parties for the entire family? Do any of the villain characters appear?

Yes , they did have a costume party for everyone. It is held in the atrium, later in the evening. ( Maybe 10 or so, I remember it was after late seating, and I remember being tired while watching it) If I remember correctly, Hades hosted the costume contest last year but that was the only villain. Halloween cruising is a blast and normally you have a lot of the same halloween cruisers. However, 2005 is the year of the great repositioning cruises, so same of the normal ones may have pushed their sailiings up for the repo cruise. I know Ginger is on the repo cruise next year, so I do not think she is on the halloween cruise. You should go start a thread in the cruise meets board, and get a group going ;-) It is a lot of fun.

JungleCruiser, Halloween is a great time of year to cruise. The air temps are not to to hot and the water temps are still nice and warm. You'll have a great time aboard the Magic, they have their own T-or-T but with so many people it's hard for it to be as organized as the ones we've had for the folks from here.
They have costume contest for the little ones early in the day and in the evening around 10' ish. They have one for the adults but it always ends up being for the whole family. They have family dances and of course in the evening in the clubs-bars they do have for adults only things going on. Lots of stuff going on in the kids clubs boy, they have a great time.
We are booked for the Aug Repo so we will not be making our normal Halloween cruise aboard the Magic

Hey Ginger! Do you remember me? We will be on the repo cruise with you!!

Junglecruiser- I would definetley organize your own Trick or Treat. Ginger did a wonderful job, and we had a huge crowd. The kids loved it. The one DCL does is a mad house.
