Halloween Costume Question

We are heading to Disneyland for our 1st ever trip Oct 6-9! We are attending the Halloween party that Friday night. My daughters (9 and 12) want to be Hogwarts students for Halloween. I'm not sure walking around in a robe all afternoon and evening will be that much fun, along with carrying a wand. Plus I think it would be more fun to have a Disney costume! SO...to compromise, I was thinking of keeping the Harry Potter stuff for Halloween at home, and doing something simple like a t-shirt and coordinating Mickey ear headband for at Disneyland. Not really much of a costume, but would be fun to shop for when we get there and comfortable to wear. My question - will we find Haunted Mansion themed Mickey ears, and princess themed Mickey ears at the park (older one loves HM, you're still likes the princesses)? I've seen some on Esty, but would like to buy there if we can. But I also don't want to end up with nothing they want and no costume!!
My other question - does everyone really dress up? Will they wish they had a "real costume?" We've been to WDW MNSSHP and they have dressed up more (princess dress, pirate costumes, etc), but there are also people not dressed up.
Thanks for the input! Any other suggestions appreciated too!

Why not just rent a locker for the robes and have them wear them when the party starts?

Whenever I've gone to the MHP, there seems to be a pretty even split between guests in costumes and guests not in costumes. I don't wear a costume (I do wear a Halloween t-shirt) and I've never felt out of place. You will (probably) see some guests in very elaborate costumes. In terms of wearing the Hogwarts robe, I've seen a few HP characters at the MHP, but for me, personally, it would depend a lot on the weather. If it's 90's out, I wouldn't want to be wearing a black robe until the sun has set and it starts to cool down!

In terms of Mickey Ears...they have lots of princess ones and I can't imagine that changing much in the next few months. I don't recall seeing any Haunted Mansion themed ears recently.

On the Shop Parks app, they have 6-8 princess themed headbands (specific princess, not really "generic" princess).

While not "Haunted Mansion" specifically, they did have Jack Skelington headbands... And he does his Nightmare Before Christmas decorating to the Haunted Mansion during the holidays!

Instead of actual full costumes, have you considered suggesting Disneybounding? Disneybounding is essentially turning a character's "vibe" into an outfit. So, for example, a person might wear a black shirt, red pants, and yellow shoes to bound as Mickey. My DD wears green pants, a purple top, and shell accessories for Ariel. I have a purple top with a black skirt and a black long cardigan with a green scarf (and a bow with horns, SO CUTE) for Maleficent. You can google it for more ideas if it sounds like something your girls would like. My DD12 loves doing it, and my older nieces (14 & 16) enjoy it too. And bonus points--you can still wear them after Halloween, and no one will ask you why you are in costume.
