So, what kind of costume do you get for a 13 year old female that's outgrown the 'boys' costumes and refuses a girly teen one? And when I say 'girly', I mean anything with a skirt. Oh yeah, and she doesn't wanna do the pirate thing either. Been that for 3 years. We're gonna be on the Wonder during the Halloween festivities and I want us to dress up. I've never done it before and I think we would have a blast. I've already bought my costume. It's from the forbidden 'girly' catagory. She wants something scaryish, without a mask but still cool. Okayyy. Anyone have suggestions? It has to be something I can buy. (I'm not crafty.) Thanks for any advice! :)

I dunno, take her out to a Halloween store and let her decide for herself. It's impossible to second guess these things, and at 13, she's got to have SOME idea.

Mad scientist, gypsy, 80s rock star...I like to go to the costume store and figure out something unique from the pieces

We went to a couple of stores this week and she didn't see anything that she would want. Man, this is hard! I've been online all night looking for suitable costumes. I've found one that I think she might like.... the girl is soooo picky though. It's called Carnivale Creeper. It comes with a mask but she doesn't have to wear that. What sold me were the cool gloves. They have long, black, pointy fingers. Pretty cool! I'm gonna show it to her tomorrow morning before school. I hope she likes it.

Buy her some of those rubber face wounds (screw through the cheek, or nail in the forehead), some blood and some scars. Let her just be a scary, bloody, wounded person.

I thought about this too. Still might be an option.

Great idea! We've never tried to apply this stuff before but it couldn't be too hard, right?

I had a friend dress up as an IRS Auditor one year....scariest costume I ever saw. :scared1: He was dressed in a suit and carried a clipboard and had a name tag that had his name and IRS Auditor below.

I was a zombie cheerleader when I was about her age. Wore a cheerleader skirt, a top that said I was from Boo U and added blood.

Good news! She gave me the go-ahead with the Carnivale Creeper costume this morning. Searched online this morning for the best price. Ended up ordering from Kmart of all places. (The same place I picked mine up at locally. I never shop at Kmart! Was just there to kill time one day waiting for a restaurant to open for dinner.) Anyway, they offered free shipping, the costume was already discounted just over $8 PLUS I used a coupon code I found at Retailmenot. (In the comments section of the RETAILMENOT code. That code didn't work but when I checked the comments, a lot of folks said to use KMART5OFF50. It worked!.) Saved $20.05. If the costume doesn't work for her, we can just return it to the store. Whew. One less thing to worry about. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

Girl needs to woman up and start dressing like the girl she is!! Maybe when she's in high school.....:scratchin
