Halloween at WDW before cruise

We are sailing out on our 4th cruise this Nov. 1. We live out west and therfore fly in to Orlando ON Halloween. Just considering the idea of flying in a day earlier and hitting the park on Halloween instead. Any thoughts from those who have been to WDW on halloween? It will be me, DH, and DS 5 ( the reason for the question!). Thanks!

They do "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween". Kind of something for the kids who obviously don't want to do Halloween Horror Night at Universal. Not sure what it involves but someone I'm sure will know---if anyone's been--let us know.

Hi Iam going on the Nov 1st Magic Check out our thread. We will also be at MNSSHP on the 31st and will be dressing up. The MK closes to all guests who do not have a special event ticket at 6pm.I believe the tickets were 35 and 43 not sure but it came to 119 for 2 adults 2 children plus shipping. I Have never been but it sounds like a lot of fun.

I've been twice with DD and plan on going again this year. I dress up along with DD. I had friends without kids that went last year and they dressed upped also. (We're kids at heart) They have trick or treating around the park. Everything is dressed up for Halloween. There is "free" face painting along with fortune tellers. There's a Halloween parade and special events happening all around the park. DD and I love it, but my parents don't care for it that much.

I have 2 adult tickets for MNSSHP for Oct 31st, and I'm trying to get rid of them. My FH and I were planning on going to WDW for our honeymoon, so I went ahead and bought these tickets, and then at the last minute our plans changed and we decided to take a cruise. So now I have these tickets that are going to go to waste..if anyone is interested, please email me!! We are going on the cruise with you and we are going to the Halloween party first!

We were at Disney's Not So Scary Halloween Party last year with our kids on Oct. 30th. We absolutely loved it! Our girls are 9 and 7 this year and they want to go again. But it isn't the candy that is great! (We are bringing a bag of candy for them so they don't wait in the long lines for candy) The lines on the rides are so small especially on the 30th. We just went from one E ticket ride to the next. Disney also does a great job with the decorations. Main Street is turned into a green and orange "haunted" street but none of it is scary. The disney characters are in costume too and they are all over the place. We watched the fireworks from the Dumbo ride area and they were fantastic. The parade is also awesome. We have been to Disney about 5 times with the kids (we go every 6 months!) and this was their favorite time in the Magic Kingdom.

We dressed up last year and are planning to dress up again. It is a great, great time for little kids and their parents. We are going on the 30th again because we hear that it is less crowded than the 31st.

Universal Studios has a scary halloween night if your kids are older and into a more scary night.

If flying in a day earlier is an option for you, I don't think you'd regret going to MNSSHP!

We've only been to one, in 2000 (and we'll be there on Hlloween again this year!), but we loved it. I thought the crowds were very managable compared to what you see in MK during the day, so you can ride ALMOST as many rides during the party as you would on a crowded day at MK.
