I just re-scheduled a trip and I'll be arriving at WDW (BLT baby!!) on 10/30.

I've never been during Halloween-time before, so I'm wondering if I can get some info opinions on the different Halloween activities...

TIA

We went last year on a fluke during October and it was one of the best trips we've taken. If fact, we booked our next trip for the same time again this October at BLT as well.

DW had to talk me into going to MNSSHP last year and I'm glad she did. It was well worth the ticket price. We dressed the kids up only, but this year we're going all out after seeing everyone last year.

If you're going to MNSSHP and your kids are young, I don't recommend going to a park during the morning. CM will let you enter the MK starting at 4pm, even though the party doesn't start until 6pm. I'm not positive on the actual times, so make sure you check or if someone can verify me. The point being, that you can get in earlier then the published start time. Also, the best time in the park is after the fireworks show because so many people leave early. The best time we had was in the last hour from 11pm-12am when we practically had Fantasyland completely to ourselves.

Also you have the Food and Wine festival at Epcot, which is really great. Pricey, but great. A tip on the F&W is that all the food booths take snack options from the DDP. If you happen to get the QS-DDP, it comes with 2 snacks per day, which is quite nice as it makes it a little less painful on the wallet. I'm looking forward to seeing what concerts they'll have this year. They had a few good ones last year.

And finally we had a good time because we were able to enjoy the evening activities a little more. We have young kids and traditionally have gone during late May-early June. It makes it difficult to enjoy spectromagic and wishes fireworks since they don't usually start until about 9 at the earliest, which is waaaay too late for DW who is the Chief of the Bed Police. During Oct on the nights they don't have MNSSHP, the parade and fireworks are much earlier, starting at 7pm I believe, since it gets dark earlier.

Have a good time. Don't forget to buy your MNSSHP tickets as early as possible if you're going on Oct 31st. That's a guaranteed sell-out date! :)

:thumbsup2 We did MNSSHP last year on 10/29 and 10/31. Halloween Night was awesome and while busy not crazy busy...or what I thought a sold out party should be. I do believe that if you are not planning on MNSSHP...there are hay rides or Haunted carriage rides at FW. They last 30 minutes and the driver tells the story of Sleepy Hollow. You can also see the Headless Horseman (worth the ticket price for MNSSHP IMNO) leave for the party from FW stables at a full gallop holding his head and everything. Talk about creepy. I have heard he also returns to the stables between parties. THere is also storytelling at the Port Orleans resort (POFQ) I think. You can also purchase stuff to make smores at FW to eat around the campfire.

We were at Kidani Village last Halloween. They had characters in costume at the resort taking photos and I believe there was story-telling. We went to the parks that night, but there was a list of activities taking place at the resort.

It's a great time of year to visit. The cool thing was that we arrived and the parks were decorated for Halloween, but a couple of days later it was all Christmas!
