Okay I'm going to DisneyWorld from October 22nd to the 29th so will be there at Halloween. I have heard alot about the MNSSHP(think I got the initials right!! :confused3 )and was wondering if anyone could prepare me as to what to expect. I am taking my 5 year old grandaughter and her Mom(my daughter, she insisted she had to come along). Is it worth getting the tickets to the MNSSHP? How does it work? Does the park stay open later and what happens at the park? Do you have to wear costumes? Do you go trick or treating? Geez, so many questions. On a little bit of a budget but if you folks tell me it's worth buying the tickets, princess: I will!! (trusting you folks here!!). Do all the parks have the party? Do you buy the tickets in advance?
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
Sorry for all the questions but I want to make this a special time for my grandaughter. princess:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Also is it too early to start sending in pre-trip reports!! :teeth: I know it's over four months away but am starting to get sooo excited now, already. I dug my binder out from last year and am now in the planning mode.

Hello Fellow Canadian!!

We absolutely loved the MNSSHP last year so much that we decided to go back this year again...but not only once but twice!! It was that good!! The night will fly by...here's a listing of the events you can partake in:

The following was taken from a previous "beattyfamily" post: "They do not release a schedule until you get the special party map at the party itself but most go by the previous year's schedule. Someone, I'm sure, will post this year's schedule after the first party."

2005 schedule:

NB: you can enter the park with your MNSSHP ticket at 4pm (even though the party does not start until 7pm)

Trick-or-Treating (for everyone!! you don't have to dress up...but something simple to get in the halloween mood is a good idea
Goodies for your ghouls all evenings.
Consult park map for locations. 7PM-12AM

Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade (this is AWESOME!! you have never seen a parade like this before!! lots o' DISVILLIANS in costume...)
See your favorite characters in costume!
Parade route is marked on map.
8:00 & 10:00 PM

Halloween Dance Parties
Stitch's Cosmic Dance Party - Tomorrowland
Get Up & Boo-gie - Fantasyland

“Happy HalloWishes” Fireworks
New this year is a spectacular Halloween-themed fireworks display -- “Happy HalloWishes” -- featuring spooky music from family-friendly Disney attractions and movies including Haunted Mansion and “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” as well as the voices of memorable Disney characters such as Madame Leota, Ursula, Jafar, Maleficent and Oogie Boogie. Eek!
9:15 PM ...and the DJ is the BIG BAD WOLF!! pirate:

Cinderella's Surprise Celebration
On the Castle Forecourt Stage
7:25 & 8:40PM

You will love this party!! and the Headless Horseman who rides before each parade is a site to behold... :thumbsup2

The party is only at the MK park...you can but don't have to buy tickets in advance...but some nights do end up selling out (usually halloween and the parties scheduled for the weekend before halloween) these usually sell out in August...

You can buy tickets online at the WDW website or at the park when you are there...but we have already ordered ours...We are going back specifically for this party and don't want to be disappointed if its sold out :sad2

good luck planning too...that's 1/2 the fun!!

in a word............YES!

You don't have to dress up but it's part of the fun!

If you can, try to get an ADR at LTT beforehand, 'cause the Characters are dressed up too!

The fireworks are breathtaking! Don't tell, but they brought tears to DD's eyes last year!

You will run into characters that you would normally find hard to find!

The parade is awesome!

Trick or Treating! :thumbsup2

Also, make sure that you have a restful day! With your MNSSHP ticket, you can enter the park around 4:00 p.m. and you won't have to waste a regular ticket!

This will be our third year in a row that we are going!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and tips. I'm looking forward to seeing Disney decorated up for Halloween. Guess I will dig up something to wear as a costume. Something simple.

Go... it's very worth it. We had so much fun in 2004 when we went that we are doing it again this year.

Costumes..... gramma, grampa, dh and I will just wear halloween T's. My 6yo ds is dressing up as Prince Philip and my 12yo ds will be a muskateer at his request (anyone want to come sew for me???) We'll take that day off and we have a l2:30pm lunch at WCC for just before we head over to the park for 4pm! Wanted LTT but the rest of the family outvoted me!

Definately!!!!! Not only is the trick or treating fun but all the rides are open and practically all walk-ons. Yes even the popular ones! The park stays open till midnight and the parade and wishes are amazing. You must ride big thunder mountain at night it gives the ride a whole new feeling. You can get into the park at 4pm with your MNSSHP even though it says 7 on the ticket. It is like having a cheap park day ticket and free candy to boot! Can't believe I just used that phrase.......... :confused3 I am getting old :sad2:

You will have a great time even if you don't dress up, you will see some amazing costumes that people with major talent put together! Have a great time!

Another vote for GO!!! We went last year and we all had a great time. My kids were 14 and 17 at the time and we all had a costume of some type on. It seemed to add to the fun. We couldn't believe some of the characters we saw and also how much candy they had to give out! Just looking at ours pics from that night can bring tears to my eyes!
