I was wondering if there is a golf cart parade or trick or treating on Halloween? We check in the 31st....

You might want to check on things before as Halloween is on a Sunday this year and if they are going to do things like the 4th, they will most likely have the golf cart parade on SATURDAY and not Sunday. I am not sure about the trick-or-treating. We are staying until Monday just in case. IMO, the parade was a dud this year because they did this.

I’m with you Jenn I don’t think anyone went over and above to decorate the carts like years past

Ok, I have to vent & go off topic .... some of us found out too late to decorate as we had planned. at least we got some stuff on the carts for the day-before parade. I think some people who would have gone beyond simply weren't there on the 3rd. They arrived at FW in the afternoon of the 3rd, prepared for the usual 4th parade, only to find they'd missed the parade all together. The 'crowds' watching were so skimpy that I still have 75% of the candy/toys I bought for the parade. That really ticks me off considering how much I paid for it & there weren't enough people there to get rid of it all. DH re-worked his schedule to be able to get to FW in time for the 4th parade (as always scheduled in the past), which meant he missed out on a LOT of pay. Imagine how ticked we were that he still missed the parade? During the parade I refused to say "Happy 4th", and instead said Happy 3rd to everyone. Oh, and when participants showed up at the staging area, we had to check-in and then had to get into numerical order. wth??? I don't know who came up with that great idea, but I think they certainly aren't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. I certainly hope that the Halloween parade is better organized. If not, I'm gonna show my rear-end off & probably get kicked out of FW.

If you read around here a little,, most of everything you wonder is already posted here.

You have a valid point and you are not alone. The only reason why we knew to even ask the Bike Barn is because someone (that I can't remember) told me they saw it on the DisBds. As soon as I got back from the Bike Barn, DH told me they came around with flyers. This was the day before. The same disorganization was going on on July 4th with the overly expensive tie dye T-shirts. The people at the Bike Barn tell you to come back at a certain time to pay for the shirts and then go wait in line for the activity and no sooner than I come back to my site to tell people my information, does another person come back with the shirts and a receipt and told other information BY THE SAME CM! :headache:
I do hope that the dissemination of information for the parade and activities is given out in a more timely manner for Halloween. Finding out all this information at the last minute is annoying at the least and infuriating at the most. I feel for Melissa's family. There were many others like her who missed out on the parade that I saw on the side of the street mad as hell. There were also a whole boatload of people at FW on the 4th in the morning waiting for a parade that never happened as well. So, my statement that the parade was a dud was very accurate, but I feel because of the lack of dissemination of information to those who wanted to participate.

If the Halloween parade is on Saturday morning, we'll miss it, and if it's on Saturday evening, we'll probably miss it too cause we'll be just arriving and setting up. I sure hope they don't have the trick or treating on Saturday night cause I don't want to have rush setting up and getting the trick or treating set out in a hurry.

Sorry bout that.

If I had been there in the crowd, I could have relieved you of about another 25 percent of that candy single handedly,:thumbsup2

I do recall that in 2009 the gc parade was on the 30th in late afternoon/early evening.

I sent an e-mail to ask when activities will take place. Will lt you know when I receive a reply.

thanks:banana: send me your address Frank

if it wasn't all wrapped in patriotic wrappers I'd use it for Halloween lol

I sure hope they don't do trick or treat on Sat night, that is my big birthday party (not sure where we are going to do it, trying to find out if we can use the place by the pool, but no one seems to know who to contact).

we could go early in the day & put out all of our stuff to 'reserve' the place. I've even got some police line/caution/do not cross tape we could rope it off with. who needs permission?

That's my thinking, I was thinking of putting a tent and have my Son sleep there, but I don't want it during the daytime, so why tie it up then. We might use your idea, if I get no response from Disney.
