Hi all,

We are spending Halloween weekend in a cabin at Fort Wilderness. Who else has plans to be there?!

My mom, the kids (DS12, DS9 and DD8) and I plan to arrive late on Friday night. I was hoping for a MNSSHP for the 30th but it looks like we'll be going on the 31st instead.

What activities are planned at the Fort for Halloween- anything planned for the day before (a Saturday)?

I would love to hear from anyone going!:woohoo:

We had hoped to go Halloween weekend but DH's work schedule prevented it. We will be there the 13th-17th and hope to catch a MNSSHP.

We will be there this year ... our second time during this holiday period. We don't do things like MNSSHP or the MVMCP Xmas thing since we are past that. Our biggie that we missed when we were there back in 2008 was the Haunted Carriage Ride and that's at the top of our list this year and will be making that ressie 180 days out this time.

Mid Oct to 1 Dec along with 15 Dec to 1 Feb are our favorite times and when we now go because of the weather, crowds, etc. ... O.K. 22 Dec or so thru 1 Jan is a mess but that's only a week and we are usually there for upwards of six weeks at a time and then we just visit resorts, kick back and do other things than the parks.

We'll be there. Went last year and had a ball so we're going again. There are some things planned leading up to Halloween like a golf cart parade and pumpkin carving contest and site decorating. But trick or treating is done ON Halloween and it is cool. My dd never got so much candy on Halloween before. We've deemed her too old now at 12 so she gets to hand it out this year.

Hey,

This will be our FIRST time to the Fort with our brand new trailer ! Should be interesting!!!

We hope to be arriving on Friday 10/29 before dark. Will have our 16-year-old and friend, 10-year-old and 8-year-old along with my Mom and her friend in their new trailer too.

We requested loop 1400...hope it is okay for us first timers. We are unsure if we are buying the additional tickets for the Mickey Not So Scarey parade/party...heard from 2 sources who have gone in teh last year or so that it wasn't worth it...and since our kids are a bit older, think we may skip it.

But, we are LOOKING for something cool to do for Halloween.

Noticed that your younger DS and DD are around my kids age which would be cool to hang out one day.

So, there is trick or treating at the Fort on Halloween night? Cool. We are thinking about the Haunted Carriage ride too....do you book that through the regular channels, by calling the (407) number or ONLINE...or do you do that another way?

I did think a ride through the Haunted Castle on THAT night would be cool, but Im sure you have to have the additional ticket, right?

Hope to see you there !!!

we have plans to be there over halloween. that will be a nice relaxing trip for us. :)

We will be there and so will our folks, can't wait! This will be our third year at the Fort over Halloween and there is nowhere else we would rather be! Decorations are AWESOME, we will be bringing our own but since we travel from NC we can't bring too much -- there are fabulous displays year after year from other campers! Can't wait to see all the decorations this year!

We are pulling in late on the 29th and staying for 8 nights. Probably skipping MNSSHP this year as it is supposed to be crazy crowded on Halloween. We may go if they have one on the 1st.

Do the kids just go trick-or-treating site to site? Should they wear costumes? Can I just follow them on the golf cart and drink a beverage?

we will be there. we will probably have about 5 other tt's with us. just trick or treat site to site. typically you just follow the kids with the cart. some loops you can park the cart at the entrance and walk through

We will be there again this year, I love Halloween at FWCG, it is so much fun. This was us last year:

We hope to be there, at this point:confused3

My favorite event would be the Halloween fishing, :woohoo:

Thanks Pete, you just gave me a good laugh!!
We will be there from I think the 28th thru Nov 3rd. There is going to be a GG and look for our sites. Also not sure what sites we are going to have (will be full hook-up) but will try to post, because there is a BIG PARTY ON MY SITE OCT 30TH, eveyone is invited.

We'll be arriving in FL on the 30th but staying at my ILs. :guilty:
The next day we are getting on the Wonder but will be back at the Fort on the 4th for 9 days!!!

Hi all,

Decided to come in on the 28th so we can MNSSHP on the 29th and have fun at the fort on the 31st (that's the whole point of staying there).

LornaDuck- we would love to come to your party! :yay: We are driving from NC- what can we bring?

we will be there......CAN'T WAIT!!! we went last sept and did MNSSHP, very disappointed. Over crowed and people enjoy all festivities without having wristbands. I got quite angry and we ended up leaving around 9pm after fireworks. They were worth it but we will watch them from the campground beach this year.

We arrive on sat 10/30 until sat 11/6, staying, hopefully in loop 300. We do plan to TorT with kids. Its a big surprise for them. We are not even telling where we are going that friday night. SHHHHHH

Maybe we'll c-ya there!!!!
