Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

Just saw this on Yahoo:

In an announcement shared exclusively with Southern Living today, Hallmark revealed plans for "Honoring Betty White," a special slate of programming scheduled for Monday, January 17. Beginning at 12 a.m., the network will air a 40-episode marathon of The Golden Girls highlighting many of Rose Nylund's best moments. The curated lineup will run all day leading up to a special presentation of the 2011 Hallmark movie The Lost Valentine at 8 p.m. ET/PT, starring White and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The marathon will resume following the movie and conclude at 5 a.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, January 18.

The Lost Valentine is a really good movie (IMO).

Being incredibly nitpicky here. But, did anyone else think that the wedding veil was too WHITE? I would have thought that nearly a century old wedding veil would have been more of an ecru or eggshell color. Fabric naturally fades & discolors over time no matter how well preserved.

HaHa. Yes. I thought about that too.

I had originally thought Hallmark would do all 3 movies in January and have a strong January. But, they are stretching them out. :(
I had a feeling that they were planning to spread them out, but would have rather had them spread out 2 weeks apart instead. A strong January of this series would have been even better IMO.

Yes! Especially as others have worn it and it had sat in the open at an antiques shop.

Fun facts:
Hallmark is introducing a brand new wine to go with their upcoming movie.
drink%20(12).gif
According to Hallmark, this late harvest Sauvignon Blanc is called The Perfect Pairing, after the movie.

The Perfect Pairing wine is an ice wine, just like in the new Hallmark movie. This is a dessert wine. It is made from nearly frozen grapes, at 37 degrees Brix, “at harvest.” The finished product has 17 percent residual sugar, by weight. This sweet wine has tropical fruit flavors and rich golden color.

This is the very first time that Hallmark has launched a wine with one of its original romances. Therefore, Andrew Nelson, the Hallmark Channel Wines winemaker was thrilled at the chance to create a wine for this New Year New Movie romance.

Nelson, who is the recent recipient of Wine Enthusiast’s 40 Under 40 Tastemakers explained the distinction between this wine and the other Hallmark wines.

"While our previous wine lineup always took inspiration from the Hallmark Channel’s existing oeuvre, this is the very first time that our wine is highlighted within an original movie in this manner. It is a special experience that viewers can see the wine on screen, and then directly purchase it to taste in real life."

Hallmark previously launched two Christmas wines before Christmas 2020. They were named Jingle and Joy. Jingle is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, with the aroma of dark chocolate, cherry, and a touch of holiday spice. On the other hand, Joy is a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. This wine has notes of white peach and tropical fruits including ripe pineapple.

Later, Hallmark added Love and Blush wines. Love is a red wine blend. This is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend. It has notes of fresh blueberries, plum, and blackberries. Blush is a rosé wine. In addition, this is a crisp wine that has notes of white peaches and strawberries.

Cheers is a rosé wine, seltzer-based sparkling wine drink which come in individual cans. Bubbly and refreshing, the flavors are light strawberry, with some citrus notes. This is a champagne-style drink.

Along with The Perfect Pairing wine, these wines were produced by Wines That Rock.

I'm recommending one that's on this afternoon if you guys read this post in time.

It's In My Dreams starring Katherine McPhee (of American Idol and Smash,) and Mike Vogel. It's about a legend at a local water fountain, where when a person tosses a coin in the fountain, they may dream of their true love for 7 days and then meet. The leads toss coins at the same time, which land together. Then they start dreaming of each other. But HOW do they find each other to meet?

It's on today at 1pm ET on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

I'm watching a 2018 Hallmark movie with Tyler Hynes. He is clean shaven with shorter hair, and it's freaking me out LOL. I haven't ever seen him like that, only with the beard and the long slicked back hair. At first I wasn't even sure it was him.

I think I know the movie you’re talking about. It threw me for a loop too. Was it the one where she's a radio host?

Yeah! I liked it, and I finally adjusted, but oh boy, he freaked me out for awhile. Looks like he is clean shaven in a newer one too.

The beard makes him look so much older. I watched him in a movie the other night with singer, Lauren Alaina. I think it was called Roadhouse Romance. I couldn't get into it. She can't really act. Her character was rude and snarky at times. And her character's acting like that's supposed to be hip & cool. No, it's just rude. She just looked sooo young compared to bearded Tyler that he seemed more of a father figure to her. Especially when he was naming off movies that were made before she was even born.

I prefer him with Bethany Joy Lenz and other women who look more the same age as him.

I watched this. It was predictable, yet I liked it. Brennan Elliott was better than usual. I remember him in Christmas in Vienna, where he played a rather cold, remote character. I thought, in this movie, since the wine reviewer had practically ruined his vineyard's reputation, that he would again play cold and bitter.

While the character was angry about the review and what it did to the business, Brennan seemed to make a real effort to play this character with more openness and warmth. Maybe he had read the reviews about him being so cold & detached in the Vienna movie. Or maybe he knew there was more on the line in this one as Hallmark was launching a new wine in real life to go with the movie. His character had to be likeable.

It was interesting learning about ice wines, too. 🍷

That was my takeaway from this movie — I want to try ice wine! 🍷

If I may go slightly off-topic, my wife and I recently watched "Runaway Romance" on UP TV. It caught my attention because Tatum O'Neal was in it.

This movie was an absolute train wreck. Tatum O'Neal was absolutely awful. I realize that she won here Academy Award when she was a little girl, but her acting in this movie was really, really bad.

Trevor Donovan gave his usual good performance. The lead actress, Danielle Churchran, should not have been given the lead. She simply wasn't ready for it. She needs to play the sister or best friend for a few movies before being given a leading part.

Galadriel Stineman was a co-star in this movie. She was excellent in the co-starring role as the Amish woman who ran the B&B. She must have impressed someone with her ability to play Amish so well, as she also played an Amish woman in Hallmark's "Follow Your Heart". I'd like to see more of her.

Interesting. I don't get UP TV. I've been wondering what is the quality of their movies and how they compare to even Lifetime, which usually doesn't have as good movies as most of Hallmark, in my opinion.
