Yes, the men were a bit younger than I expected. I don't think a single one of them has ever seen a Hallmark movie. The one guy who said his grandma watches Hallmark isn't endearing himself to a younger demographic. And I'm not sure any of them are someone I'd want to watch for two hours in a movie. The model types look good in photos but seem to have a bland personality when it comes to acting. And the one with real acting experience is doing things to torpedo his own chances. I found that interesting. And one was a real hot mess. That wouldn't have gone over in real life, on the job, I don't think.

I did think all the puppies were cute. Yet, they should have swapped out the one puppy that just wasn't behaving.

As our two couples and storylines intersect, lessons are taught and learned about communication, honesty and the capacity for change — in ourselves and in others.

I watched this. It was okay. Apparently, a new Hallmark (recurring) theme may be to have the leads miss doing something, so they can't quite get together, then repeat it 3-5 times until the end. (Similar type of plot in The 5-Year Christmas Party.) This movie also had a deception in it that was carried on by a couple people that I wasn't fond of. It was a watch once and done for me.

My Sweet Austrian Holiday

It's basically the same storyline as "Christmas By Starlight" with Kimberley Sustad. But in Vienna (very minimally portrayed). Of course, Will Kemp is very good.

I finally watched this. It is definitely like Christmas By Starlight. Not even a smidge like Love, Romance & Chocolate as the chocolates, nor the shop are featured in it the same way. I liked that the leads got along from the beginning. I liked Will Kemp dancing.

I enjoyed Love, Once and Always. I am a big fan of Aiden in tne two Aiden and Darcy movies. I don't think I had ever seen Peter Porte--so handsome, in anything else. The actress at times was a bit much. I cheered at how the two characters came together at tbe end.

I finally watched and enjoyed Christmas at the Amish Bakery. Simpler story of faith and family. I also liked how the greater community joined in at the end. We could all use more rest and quiet times indeed.

I was pleasantly very surprised by Identical Love. It's the story of three medical professionals who volunteer abroad through a nonprofit foundation started by the mission's founder. Beautiful scenery, too.

I am not typically into time travel stories. I did end up overall enjoying Journey Back to Christmas. Candace Cameron plays a young nurse from 1945 who ends up in 2016. Her character, Hannah, tells us was born in 1912. So she was 33 in 1945. Apparently she remained 33 rather than 104 in 2016. Hannah does end up back in her true time and reuinted with her military husband.

Hannah touches a family in 2016 with extra faith and appreciation of one another. I did wonder (it was not stated) whether when she returned to 1945, she remembered anything of her 2016 life or vice versa of the more modern day folks after she left. Another ten minutes of the movie would have been interesting.

That is one of my favorites!! I generally watch it every year, and yes, I do think Hannah remembers her journey to the future

as she sends her friend the comet post card from, I think NY?, where she and her husband go after they both get back. I think the comet is like an inside story between them now, because she told her friend of her adventures.

Maybe someday we'll get a sequel.

Just a notation it looks like UP bought a lot of their movies, old movies too and they bought some prior ION movies...you guys remember ION had pretty poor quality movies and it looks like after the 2022 holiday season ION stopped doing holiday movies.

All to say don't expect high quality from them this year, not trying to be debbie downer but it's possible you've already seen or talked about many of 2024's UP's selection since this thread has started back in 2020 because of them purchasing so many old stuff. I know we've for sure mentioned some of these Ion movies in the past.

Country Roads Christmas is from 2022 and has been at my library system for years now.

I'm not positive if A Christmas Thief is the same as Ion's 2021 The Christmas Thief (5.7/10 on IMDb) The descriptions are pretty similar but it could be a newer movie. Same for A Holiday Hideout looks like it might be Ion's 2021 A Christmas Witness (5.4/10 on IMDb) but would want the actors and actresses names for verification.
