Has there been any official information about whether or not the newest update to Hall of Presidents will be complete by July 4? Any confirmations of the current President recording his speech? We have always enjoyed the show - for the History and the A/C ;) - and my daughter is really looking forward to the show piece of it as she is just wrapping up AP US History and will be taking AP US Government next year. We are planning a trip for early August.

Thanks for any info - much appreciated.

Like basically every "does anybody know when X will come back?" Threads the answer is no. Keep watching the news threads and site and something will certainly be posted when known.

Someone might know how long it usually takes to switch to a new president.

It doesn’t really matter how long it usually takes because nothing about this year is typical.

And even in normal times, the downtime isn’t consistent anyway. Depends on many factors. If they are refurbishing any other parts of the show, timing for recording, etc. Really impossible to make any prediction.

It took about 11 months last time. Went down in January 2017, reopened in December.

I would be surprised if Hall of Presidents is open by 4th of July. Normally it takes longer than that and I can't imagine that many things are moving faster these days. My guess is it will be closed for your trip. Sorry!! I love HoP also!

It varies. A lot of times in the past it's only been a few months but they wait till a few moths after inaurigation before even closing which they didn't this time. Last time was 11 months.

This time we don't know if they are just going to add a president and keep everything else the same or use this as a timeto change things like the muppets rumor (which I doubt is happening).

So we just don't know and disney has been very closed lipped on things other then saying Biden will be added.

A permit was filed a few weeks ago for construction. I don't know if that's standard for adding in a new animatronic president, but it sounds like a more substantial refurb to me. According to a blog I read (and I have no idea the accuracy) Trump's took 11 months, Obama's took a little over 7, and both Bush & Clinton's took about 1 each.

only 1 month for Bush and Clinton?!?! I don't know why in my mind I was thinking it typically opened to fanfare around the 4th of July......I remember it took a while with Trump but thought that was an anomally....but we all know this year is anything but typical.......wait and see I guess!! :)

They changed quite a bit of the show between Obama and Trump if I recall correctly. Different narrator, some different content (Cut stuff about Andrew Jackson). Hopefully they’ll leave most of the show alone since it was just changed four years ago, and just add Biden.

Yeah it looks like for those they kept it open, made the new animatronic and closed just long enough to install it. It was one month but the closing wasn't until months after they took office.

This is another reopening I'm looking forward to. Part of it I'm sure will depend on how they manage indoor show spaces and whether or not the Robo-Biden will be ready to go before or after vaccination rates allow for a packed house once again.

My Husband was hoping this would be open for our trip last week... obviously it was not. ...now he is hoping that it will be open for our December trip!

Only the version with Obama opened on July 4 - at least according to Wikipedia. All others not even in July. Many of the versions have opened in October.

The Clinton and George W. Bush ones may have only taken a month once they actually started work -- but it was many many months after both were elected before they actually began that work. For example, Clinton elected Nov 1992, sworn into office Jan 1993 --- previous attraction didn't close to add him until September.

After Bush, a previous president's version was never open under a new president. The Bush version closed before the 2008 election even took place. So, that's part of why the time between openings got longer. And recording a message for Disney isn't exactly a top priority for new administrations.
