You clearly have a strong opinion on the subject, why is it hard to believe other people might have equally strong opinions...albeit different than your own?

(FWIW I am not stating my OWN opinion here, I am just glad we ALL have the right to have and voice them as we see -non-violently!- fit!)

I just saw some of today's close-up pics.....the robot looks like he has a lazy eye and the skin sag is just TOO MUCH....almost all the other recent presidents have looked MUCH better...more realistic.

BTW, I haven't posted on disboards in ages but this is sooooooo interesting how people get their entertainment and their politics confused....anger is a weird emotion

I think in a world where our president is also a former reality TV host, it's easy to see how entertainment and politics have become intertwined and even inseparable for some.

HOP is just not the place for a protest. No matter the reason or who it's against. Makes no sense to protest a robot. I mean, the robot can't hear you or respond to you, right? What exactly does it accomplish? I just don't get it

I don't think you are in the minority. Many people have posted and said regardless of how they feel about 45, they don't want to hear any booing. I personally agree that booing is unpleasant and distracting to others. I don't believe it's required to respect the president just because of the office they hold, and I feel as though dissent is patriotic, but I agree that the HoP is just not the right place to express that dissent. Pick something more productive.

I often think folks sometimes forget our country was founded by folks who dissented against authority at the time. It's not a bad thing at all. But it does have a time and place. And should have a purpose.

Looks like I am in a HUGE minority,but I have ALWAYS viewed Booing or Cheering in HoP disrespectful to other Guests NO MATTER WHO the President is at that time!

To me,it is akin to using Flash Photography on Dark Rides,etc.-it is just disrespectful to other Guests-NO MATTER WHO THE CURRENT PRESIDENT IS AT THAT TIME!

I just don't get it.

I have to admit that on first glance at the close up I thought the figure bore a strong resemblance to Hillary Clinton (particularLY the jowls) I wonder if they had started a Hillary figure way back before the election but then just kept it and altered it enough to pass for Trump?

And the last bolded is exactly what I will tell my grandkids when we go in July if any booing starts. Although it makes me wonder if the fools that boo also go to the American Adventure at Epcot and look at the displays with past presidents coats, clothes, boots, etc and stand there and boo at the glass if they didn't agree with that president.

And I think people are confused about the freedom of speech that the constitution guarantees. The constitution guarantees that the GOVERNMENT can not infringe on your right to free speech. The constitution does not require that DISNEY allow you to speak (boo, cheer) while on their property. Disney can require it's guests to behave appropriately and respectfully.

And I feel the same way about Cheering in HoP-anything that takes away from the Guest experience of another such as Flash Photography on a Dark Ride is just wrong.

It reminds me of a Graduation Ceremony I recently attended where friends and family of some Graduates,despite being asked not to,would scream and yell as their graduate walked across the stage showing zero respect for other Grads.

Regardless of whether you like Trump or not, I have got to say that I am not impressed with the face of the animatronic. I think they missed the mark on this one. He looks more like Mrs Doubtfire (after the truck ran over her face) than Trump.

Yes, that's true. Disney is definitely within their rights to eject people for inappropriate reactions- another reason to control yourself and save your dissent for a protest/ action/ more productive time.

It's also not the place for clapping and cheering which I have also heard. The robots don't know you're cheering or booing for them and both of them annoy the crap out of me. If you feel moved to share your political leanings, please sit on your hands and be quiet. It's the HOP, not a campaign rally.

I agree. If you can't stay silent then don't go. As people have stated they may be boycotting and others stated they boycotted due to 44......if your feelings are strong enough that you literally can't resist speaking out, then boycotting is probably the right action.

Then perhaps it was intentional. Maybe it took that long to disguise the figure? Or maybe it took that long to create it in the first place. Sure it's a bit of a conspiracy theory but I'm just going with what my gut impression of it was when I saw it.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or what...plastic figures don't have feelings. Boycotting is a way to express to the people who made the plastic figures how you feel. I think everyone who chooses to boycott the HoP won't be doing it in an attempt to make a statement TO the current president but rather to Disney that they didn't want the figure in the park. Or, they might skip it because they choose not to see things they find unpleasant during their vacation. Regardless of our opinion on a president we all have the right to go to an attraction or skip it as we see fit.....

My feelings precisely. I think we misconstrue "freedom of speech" as "I can yell about my political feelings at the opera cause it's my right". I think HOP in particular is a very patriotic show I enjoy just for being American (haven't napped during it once yet!)
