Hall of Presidents closed until late 2017?

You have to excuse my ignorance but I am hoping against all hope to get to go during my January February trip is there a fast pass for this attraction

As a Canadian I visited both previous versions and saw no difference in the amount of poel going into it. I think most people use it more as place to get out of the sun and into some air conditioning for a little bit. However of the two speeches I herd by the presidents I thought that Obama's fit more with the attraction then Gorge W Bushes as it was almost a rehash of a sate of the union address.

Friendly reminder that per Disboards guidelines any talk about political views, favorable or unfavorable, are not allowed. I know this is particularly hard with a subject such as the HoP but we need to keep the discussion focused on the delay in opening, which can mean anything.

I have a great deal of sympathy for Disney here. In order to be respectful of all Americans, they need to walk a carefully nonpartisan line. If the current state of political uncertainty continues (or, heaven forbid, worsens), I expect the reopening may be delayed even beyond Jan 31st.

Creative differences? More like impossibly daunting creative challenges.

Is this the first time HoP won't be open for Independence Day?

I'm really gutted-I won't be able to do my traditional HoP/American Adventure "double header".

I'm thinking so ....

There were two related articles I read today talking about the reasons for the delay. Politics aside, according to those articles, the delay was due to disagreement between Disney and the Trump administration on who would write the copy for the audio to be recorded by Trump. In the past (with Clinton, Bush II, and Obama), Disney always had control over what was said. Trump's administration didn't want to follow that precedent.

The second article said the goal is to now have HoP reopened by the anniversary of Trump's election.

Read about the "creative differences" today.

It doesn't bother me that it'll be closed. It's a good place to escape the heat or a rain storm, get off your feet for a bit, but I wasn't really planning to visit it in December anyway.

I hope the Muppets are still in Liberty Square though. :)

Based on what I read today, I think you're right. It's too bad. I know a lot of people think it's boring, but I always really enjoyed the show.

Well, the Muppet show on the balcony of HoP is quite entertaining and not controversial. We'll be happy for our grandsons to see that. The American Adventure at Epcot is also great.

I haven't seen the Muppets yet (our next trip is in January), but I sure do love the American Adventure! Especially the Two Brothers song... it gets me every time. (But in a good way!)

So bummed to hear this. My son is really getting into American history and was so excited to see it this August. I do agree with previous posters that the delay is probably because politics have been such a contentious issue as of late.

Probably in the minority but we love the HOP wish they could open up the lobby area in the mean time the CM's there are great.

We've always enjoyed looking at the displays in the lobby.
