I'm writing my senior thesis for American Studies on Disney's representation of American history through the American Adventure, in Epcot, and the Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom. 1st Impr:Beautiful building, but figured it would be a snore fest!
Like best: Segways It moves along and isn't choppy.
Learned anything? No, I'm a History major, pretty basic stuff.
Target audiance: WASPs with average SAT and IQ scores.
Nothing is offensive about the attraction, Its sanatized for your protection.
I feel the attraction stands on its own. Its politically correct and thats a good thing, there are two many differing opinions and view points to cover them all. Attempting that would take hours, and people will start getting offended.
I would like to see the show updated to add the Vietnam conflict, more modern events, etc....
The show, however sanitized is fairly accurate. Its a time line, a shell, nothing more. I think its perfect for what it is intended to be.
Despite my somewhat critical analysis, I actually enjoy the attraction a great deal. I frequently recommend it to other Disney guests.
