I haven't been to these attractions for years and years and years. So much so that I can't remember a thing about either of them. I know that they are both audio-animatronic type shows and are very "American".

As a Canadian, will I enjoy these now that I'm older? Will I appreciate them? Or will they just be "too American"?

Opinions please and thank you. Should we make the time to see these attractions or just skip them?

Agreed with your POV. But, if it is 90 degrees F. and very humid, or pouring down rain--these two attractions offer a chance to sit down in the a/c for a while. It's all good!

Been to WDW 6-7 times already and only went to Hall of Presidents on our last trip. My wife and I enjoyed it. The kids would not have (if they went). It was a nice quiet break from the crowds and heat.

VERY American and a little heavy on the 'flag waving' but what else would one expect? It's IN America, after all. If you are the least bit interested in History, then I think you would enjoy it. If you are really hot and tired during the afternoon, then I think you would enjoy it. Or if you are caught in WDW while a TS is stalled in the Gulf, then I think you would enjoy it. ;)

We've been to WDW so many times now that we don't make a point of going to these attractions every time now- probably every other visit, though.

my dh loves it but he loves anything american and should have been born there. That said, I saw it too many times for my liking and have falling asleep everytime. It just bores me so much. This time, I will be going again so that dh can see it again but my main purpose will be to have A/C for our baby and being able to breastfeed in a nice cool place. I know, it's very bad of me but it makes it for a happy dh and happy baby all in one place LOL

Still not convinced to give these attractions a go just cause they seem interesting. People's opinion were what I expected (for Canadians at least). Might consider either of the two if I'm near by and in need of some AC.

Thanks for the posts everyone!

We found them very american but also very boring and fell asleep in both. I also fell asleep in the movie in the france pavillion so maybe it is just me

Seconding what alot of others have already said. Very comfortable seats and AC especially when my feet are tired. Great for a quick nap.
I do actually enjoy the American adventure. There are alot of historic pictures that regardless what country they are from, are very interesting. And sad.
I see the CDN film as being patirotic also. Showing off our wonderful country! As do the China film and French film. All are good for a nice break. (well you do stand in the China film as in the CDN one.)

Enjoy your trip!

I had never done Hall of Presidents until my 3rd trip. My brother wanted to do it cause he loves the USA. I literally fell asleep this is the only attraction at WDW where I have fallen asleep. The seats were so comfy and it was so cool in there. But when they started up that "Glory Glory Halleluiah" song I was awake again. I remember doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour and discussing it at lunch and saying I've never done it. You think I had slandered their nation the way they acted!!! LOL So needless to say I'm not interested in the American Adventure in Epcot.

Although both are more appropriate for our American neighbours, I think everyone should experience them once. The American Adventure is quite well done and the Hall of Presidents has quite impressive animatronics. As for falling asleep, I think we have all fallen asleep in a variety of attractions at WDW with the early starting days and long hours of walking. Even though it is one of my favourite attractions at Epcot, I still refer to it as "Ellen's Naptime Adventure".:rotfl2:

I Like the American Adventure a little bit more then the Hall of Presidents as it tells the story of the US as whole, mind you they do skip over some things like the war of 1812 and the two world wars don't get much mention either, but to me it's a better attraction all over then Hall of presidents. I have only seen Hall of presidents twice once with the Gorge W speech an then new one and licked the new one much better. Obamas speech is so much more appropriate for the attraction the the last presidents was.

Keep them in mind as a great plae for extended AC breaks, but they are both quite preachy and tend to annoy foreigners (and us Americans who don't like propagandized versions of our own history).

If you don't need the break, give them a pass. If you had to do one of them, see the hall of Presidents... the American Adventure will make you puke.

Cheers,

Bill

We did the Hall of Presidents in 2010, shortly after the remake and addition of Barack Obama. The films and narration are much better than whatever I can recall from 20+ years ago. True, it is a superficial treatment of U.S. history. I guess it does do a decent job of explaining the importance of the office of the President, especially through Obama's speaking part.

We went when they put Obama in. I thought it was good. The inside of the building is very nice too. It's not something I'd go to every visit, but once every few years is good.
If you haven't seen it, I think it's worth doing.
