Hall of Famer, Kirby Puckett, passes away from stroke, age 44

I remember Kirby Puckett in 1991 against the Blue Jays in the ALCS. He was a great player!

This is such sad news. It really makes a person realize how precious and fleeting life can be. :(

I just came on to post this. I just saw it on GMA. My sister was in love with him, back in the early 90's. Weused to joke with her, that she was in love with the guy who had the biggest butt in baseball.

I hope she knows already. She is going to be so bummed out.

RIP Kirby.

I still can't think of this without crying. Kirby WAS Minnesota baseball. I am so sad that my son will never get to see him in action, or see all the wonderful things he did for our community, and the world.

Heaven is a better place because Kirby is now an angel.

RIP Mr. Puckett...thanks for the millions of memories....

I remember the game when a pitch got away from Dennis Martinez and broke Kirby Puckett's jaw. Martinez was devastated and it turned out he was the last major league pitcher to face Puckett. Kirby Puckett called Martinez and said he didn't blame Martinez for anything - it was just a pitch that got away.

Puckett was a great ballplayer and, from all accounts I have seen, a pretty decent guy. He is joining the team on the Field of Dreams.

we all loved kirby.

two of his sisters lived in the town that we do. they moved to a neighboring town some time ago.

my hubby rode the train with them to the city to go to work.
he had wonderful talks with them. he told them what a fan he was of their brother and it thrilled them.

they shared super interesting stories with him. they adored their brother also

I’ve never felt so bad about the death of someone I never met.

The greatest moment of my life unrelated to God or family was sitting in the upper deck of the Metrodome for game 6 of the ’91 World Series when Kirby hit the home run that won game 6 of the ’91 World Series.
