Kirby Puckett was a great player and a fun guy. We were bar hopping in Minneapolis in 1995 and we ran into Kirby Puckett. He sat and talked with us for a good hour or more. You could just tell he loved the game and the people around the game. I didn't even really know who he was until a few weeks later and I saw a game.

Kirby played here for the Toledo Mud Hens for a year or two until he went to the big leagues...he is in the Mud Hen hall of fame, I believe (not so prestigious as the one in Cooperstown, I know). He is one of the all-time Mud Hen favorites.

We were lucky enough to get tickets to the game where his number was retired, I think it was in May of 97. He was a great player.

Kirby has always been the heart and soul of the Twins. Great player, great guy. #34 will never be forgotton.

I am deeply sadden by this news. We have been praying hard for him since we heard of his stroke.
We are big Twins fans and we have met Kirby a few times. Each and every time he was always a great person. One time we met him in a hotel lobby. We went up to him and he was just so friendly and spent some time talking to us. Just a great guy.

It is a very sad day in Minnesota
