Just to let you all know that DH and I both received Emails today saying our account had been violated and asking us to confirm our online banking details to prevent interrupted access to our online accounts.

I am sure you all probably know this but, if you get an Email like this, do NOT reply to it or confirm any details. I called Halifax, who confirmed it hadn't been sent by them and they asked for all suspicious emails to be forwarded to security@hbosplc.com and then deleted from your Email inbox immediately.

Just wanted to make people aware :)

Thanks for the heads up Joh, I'll let hubby know as he has an online account with Halifax too

Thanks for the warning Joh...I get them all the time but haven't had one yet today. I normally just delete them but will forward to that email address aswell now. :thumbsup2

I have got these emails too, I don't even have an account with Halifax.

I've had a few e-mails like that including "from" banks i'm not with. I always send them on to the banks fishing e-mail which you can find on their website.

thanks for the info Joh we have a halifax account will keep my eyes open for these:thumbsup2

I got this email too and promptly logged into my account. Everything was fine but I'm guessing some people will panic and click on the email. Thanks for the heads up Joh:thumbsup2

I don't bank with Halifax+have'nt received anything. But i do sometimes get emails from Paypal saying that i have to click on this link+update my details, pasword etc...I wonder just how many 'newbies' may not realise and do it.x.

All it takes is for one person to click and it makes it worth their while.

I get loads of these emails and they are usually from banks that I don't hold accounts with. ONe thing I do when I am not sure about emails from ebay, paypal, banks etc if check the email address the fishing emails always have suspicious addresses and not the address you expect for a large company.

Thanks for letting us know Joh. You have to be so vigilant these days with all the scams that are around

had an abbey one a while ago.Dont ever give out account.pins or passwords to anyone online, oever phone or by post
And men never buy those pills over the internet, there just there to get your details
The mony might go to my nigerian cusion who is quite high up in there government
Yep used to get those faxes as well

if i ever get any emails, i got to the official site- Dont use the link.

hope no one gets scammed.

I have to say, you'd have to be pretty stupid to fall for one of these frequent pishing scams !
