Halfboard plus?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, so apologies if this has been asked before.

Today I booked a trip to DLP for me and my 16 year old son. I was offered halfboard plus and it sounded like a good deal for the two of us. Unfortunately I was in such a fluster while on the phone that everything went in one ear and out the other.

Please can someone explain how this works? where we can eat? Do the meal vouchers have a value? Where can we use them? Have I been conned or are the meal vouchers a good thing?

I also tried to book Breakfast in Fantasyland but was told that they have stopped doing this :scared1: Is this true? I'm so upset if it is
:sad2:

Hope someone can answer my questions.

We've never done half board but looking at official brochure the vouchers can be used in La Cantina, Chuck Wagon, Crockets Tavern, Hunters Grill, Cape Cod, Parkside Diner, Silver Spur, Lucky Nugget, Rendez Vous des Stars, Steakhouse, La Grange, Beaver Creek, Walts, Agrabah, Annettes(?) so plenty of choice.
The vouchers have a face value but not sure how much but you can also use them in other restaurants and pay the difference.

In some of the above restaurants you may be given a limited menu to chose from but can order from the normal full menu and again pay the difference.

The Fantasyland breakfasts seem to be hit and miss - it seems that if you ask at reception when checking in you may be able to get them but cant book them in advance now and may not be offered them if you dont ask

We had these in Feb and we definitely saved money. For something like the Lucky Nugget where it's a buffet there's a clear saving, and the vouchers entitle you to a drink too.

Thanks for the replies... I'm glad you mentioned the Lucky Nugget as I've never eaten there and really want to try it. I'm guessing that one voucher will cover the cost of it as it's a buffet.... If so, that's excellent value.

I'm so glad there's still a bit of hope for GMF breakfast. I'll definitely be asking when I check in.

Only 13 days til we go

Yes the Lucky Nugget uses one voucher each, and that includes unlimited buffet (there's a good choice) and a soft drink each. Plus the characters of course! The only thing you pay for is if you have an extra drink.
