I think they run this special every now and then. It just started yesterday but I am not sure how long it runs. Our TA told us about it and I saw it on the website too.

Used it today. It doesn't decrease the overall price of the cruise. It just decreases the initial deposit required.

nothing big in my eyes. as pp said, it doesn't decrease the overall price so I don't see it as anything to enticing. even listening to the dis podcast today, they kind of snickered at it.

A deal? No. But it does beg to question how pre booking is going with the new fares.

I hate those sorts of "sales". Just increases what I have to pay later on. As painful as a big initial deposit is (glaring at Royal Caribbean), it makes the final payment that much easier (thanking Royal Caribbean).

They offer this every year at this time. I think this time of year is a slow time for booking for all cruise lines. I have seen a lot of cruise lines offering 50% off deposits. It makes it a lot easier for some people to book far in advance. Especially this time of year when people are paying off Christmas bills, and tax bills are just around the corner.
