Half Marathon Race Retreat???

So DH and I are doing the half marathon in January and just received info about the race retreat. We are trying to decide if it would be a good choice for us.
Some things you must know:
1. We have lunch reservations for the HBD at 11:30 (early)
2. My parents are coming with us for their first WDW trip

We were wondering if it is worth the $85 per person. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My FIL and I did the race retreat last year. Now last year was unusually cold, so the retreat was SOOOO worth it. I guess whether it is worth it to you depends on a few things. 1) What is your anticipated finish time? 2) Are you staying on property? 3) Are you considering purchasing ChEAR Squad packages for the parents?

From my experience, it might be tight to make it back to the hotel and then to DS for an 11:30 ressie. It takes a while to get to the buses and then to get to the hotels, and if there is a long line of folks waiting, it may take longer to get back.

I will say that I found the retreat to be a nice thing, the food and drinks after the race were awesome.

I have never done it. Folks I know that did were happy. They really enjoyed the post race massage, something you won't have time for I think. Good luck with your decision.

This will be my first experience with a Half, but I'm NOT doing it. Frankly I don't eat enough eggs ANYWAY and definitely not after a race to even come CLOSE to justifying the cost. I'm very picky about who gives me a massage, and already have one booked for post-trip when I get home. I've learned the hard way not to switch that up. So that's not appealing. And characters...eh, I can do characters any time. So yeah...I'd be paying $85 for eggs that I wouldn't eat after a race. No thank you!

While I have no first hand knowledge, as I have never done the racer's retreat, I have always thought that this was alot of money and I'd rather spend the money at the parks later that day.
