In a coupe de grace of obnoxiousness, I am already planning to wear mine at work the Monday after.

Lily is completely right WEAR IT THE ENTIRE TIME.

I made the mistake of leaving it in the room safe Monday following and was bummed because there were so many people at AK with it that day. Then another day I left it at the room because Susan was having velcro issues with her medal lanyard and was bummed because I should have had it engraved at DTD.

By the way I'm still bumming that I didn't get my Castle engraved at Tent City's engraver since I missed it. At least I figured it had closed up since I was so late after paying the medical tent a visit (call me Ms Paranoid) and then the long long line (which we don't have at WDW) for the official background photo.

I'll definitely be checking for an engraver at Tent City after the Half and if not then seeing if I can get it engraved later in the week before I fly home. I won't leave it behind though. I'm soooo attached to my new medals.

Also the DL lanyard velcro seemed to hold really well for me so I didn't worry but in January 2006 Susan's medal lanyard wasn't holding very well so now I'm packing thread so we can add a stitch to make sure it doesn't fall off if need be then remove the stitch later if so desired. But due to the faulty velcro on her lanyard she didn't wear her medal very much. Which is a bummer. So pack thread and needle just incase.

Saw Lily's countdown and oh my oh my oh my 99 days??? Did you see the email the other day? The packets are shipping early October so we'll have them even earlier than last year. I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait!!!!!

There you go! and considering I pack a baggy full in case they neglect to give me some I think I might live the ol' thread to home LOL I packed a baggy with enough for the 4 in our traveling party just in case

Was last year your first Marathon? I know you did the Goofy Challenge (and you will be doing it again......brave, very brave). But have you done the Marathon or Half in the years before....or was last year your first?

This January is my first -- If you can offer any advice, please do . I've been keeping up with my training but is there anything you wished you had done more of in training?

You can engrave your medals at a shop in downtown Disney(Marketplace). It is the shop which sells Christmas stuff. I think the shop is called "Disney's days of Christimas".

I think others have a better name for it but basically it's were you arrive and end. It's made up of the baggage tents where you can leave your bag with post race items you want to have on hand (like sweats if it's cold i guess i haven't left a bag yet). there are the tents for your support team to meet you at. like at the DL Half the WISH team met at the W tent (i however went to the medical tent because i'm paranoid LOL) oh yeah, there is a medical tent LOL a refreshment tent that at WDW after you do finish you get the chip cut, the foil tossed at ya and then the medal next you get your photo taken if you wish and onto the food tent that you walk thru to get to the baggages tents at least I think that was the set up.

i believe some tents were for the sponsers and Disney had a trailer (think refreshment long trail thingy) for merchandise (in DL I think they used a tent)

Oh i do recall the information tent since we went there in 2005 to ask a question.

therefore i refer to it as tent city. then there is port-a-city LOL the area where the port-a-potties are all lined up. again i think someone had a better name for that area.

in DL it was rather kewl because our resort room overlooked the staging/tent area and we could see the finish line from our window. at WDW it's in Epcot's parking lot. It was neat getting up in the morning and looking out at the finish and knowing we'd be crossing it soon.
