This is my first posting so please bear with me!!!
We have booked a stay at sequoia lodge from 17th to 21st feb and have opted for the half board plus.
Can anyone recommend which places in this option are best to eat and would it be worth upgrading to cafe mickey one night (our children are 9, 3 and 13months)?
Also i have read a few people ask to upgrade, we have booked a montana room, is it worth asking for a lake view when we get there and if so any tips on improving our chances.:rolleyes1
Many Thanks
:cheer2:

we have just booked half board plus onto our DCR booking for Feb :woohoo:

just debating where to eat now

:thumbsup2
There is just too much choice and information sometime you just end up more confused. With 3 little ones they will dictate most where and when we eat but it would be nice to have a few recommendations from others:hippie: :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

Hi smoyea and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

The half board plus option is fairly new, but hopefully someone will be along to help.

Given that hotel occupancies are on the up at DLP the chances of getting an upgrade have been greatly reduced. There is no special secret to getting an upgrade. You can ask and if you get it then it will be a wonderful surprise and bonus. Otherwise I'm sure you will still enjoy your stay for the room that you have booked :goodvibes

On both our trips (one in March and one in Jan) we had booked a Montana room and were upgraded to lake view for free.
On neither occasions had I asked for it. The view was def better on our first trip and wouldn't have been worth the money (to pay for lakeview) on the 2nd trip.

I wouldn't ask but rather just wait and see. You are going off peak so its the most likely time of year unless they're very busy because of some schools half term hols.

Have a great trip!

Also definatly worth paying the extra to eat in Cafe Mickey one night!
Its a great way to meet the characters in a more relaxed way and the atmosphere in Cafe Mickey is great.

we thoroughly enjoyed Lucky Nugget last time.

Great buffet with loads to chose from and about 10 different characters for the little ones

We also ate at Plaza Gardens but werent impressed so wont be going again....although others have

enjoyed it.

Were debating eating at some of the village restaurants this time as the park

closing is earlier so to extend our fun at the parks .

Is this your first trip??

We were also give a lake view without asking for it - and this was 20th - 23rd December. I would definitely not have paid for it though. During winter it is dark so much of the time there wasn't a lot of daylight to be seeing the lake with.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for all your comments.

Good point about going in winter and it being dark early so not being able to see the view, i did not think of that.
We have been once before over 6 years ago but only for two days and with one child not three and last time had grandma to help.
We also did not have access to the web and all this wonderful information.
:cool1:
Regards
