Hakuna Matata - May; the Irish Month of Mirth and Merriment!

Hi Team,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend! I did well in my zoo run, I finished in 27:30 which is another new post cancer surgery PR. My pace was 8:52 a mile according to my watch. Officially, they posted me as fininishing 281 / 1281 but they used the gun times. :confused3 If the chip times were used I was a little higher!

Liz did well in her race also, she ran the whole way without ever walking. Her results have not been posted yet, but her time was around 34:30. Then she mowed our lawn which takes about two hours! Robert also had fun at his kids dash, as he got candy and a medal at the end!

We might go to Olive Garden to celebrate tonight!

Jennifer~ have fun on your running date! Let's see... I would bring a girl flowers in a Gatorade bottle!

Dave~ I hope your buddies are doing well in Mexico! I also love Sunday mornings for running, or motorcycling. Not many people on the roads!

-Mike :cool2:

Running date went well. We did 4 miles in 34 minutes (A little fast for me and slow for him). It was nice to talk along the way.

Mike, No flowers, but he did bring gatorade.

Best,
Jennifer

worked the waiver table yesterday and today in the warm FLA sun the finish line for the Ironman at Fort Wilderness. As always very rewarding and runners always appreciative of the volunteers.

Good morning Guys!

Jennifer - What fun! A running date! I hope you are feeling great about it.

Dave - Dang that achilles! I hope it feels better soon. I know how painful that can be. I am still not walking much.

Margie - Lots of prayers and wishes for Hagen.

Mike and Liz and Robert - Wow! Way to go! Congratulations! :cheer2: Good to hear about an entire running family!

Gerry - Thank you for volunteering.

Regina - Hi! Much to my surprise, I have discovered that a doughnut is the very best race food in the world. I don't normally eat doughnuts, but a doughnut is wonderful food! I have tried gels and other things, but a doughnut works for me.

Sue - a biathalon, that's no swimming.

Hello to everyone! - Denise, Eva, figment82, Hope, Jack, Kim, Kirstie, Lorelei528, Mary, Pam, Regina, Robert, Scott & Lynn, Shannan, Taryn, and Vicky-

AFM - As Margie said, we made a flying trip to Denver and back in 24 hours and half hours. Took me two days to recover. I am still not walking, because of my tendonitis and I am still waiting on P90X. That should be in today or tomorrow. :woohoo:

See y'all - Connie

Good Morning Team!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mike, Nice race results for you & Liz.

Connie, It's a duathalon (run/bike/run). Not a biathalon that's usually crossing country skiing with rifle shooting & I can't do either.;)

Gerry, That race is on DH to do list. Logistically it's just not an easy race for us to get to.

AFM, I had a great race yesterday & finished in 4:25. Went out a little too fast but managed to hold it together. Could have been a little quicker but stopped for  from DH about the 32k mark.

Have a great Monday Team! ...............Sue

Good Morning Team!

I have caught up after the last week but just skimmed alot, so if I miss anyone, I am sorry.

Jennifer - glad to hear you are feeling better, good luck with the new boyfriend!

Dave - my favorite exercise music is almost anything by Off Kilter (from the Canadian pavillion in Epcot).

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I’ve been MIA the last week or so. Work has been really busy and I’ve been feeling :sick:since Saturday. So lame! Actually, as I type this I am home sick….I am not sure what’s going on…I have a headache and feel sick to my stomach. :guilty: I didn’t even try to run on Sunday because I wasn’t feeling well. Last night I tried to go to the gym for my 3 mile run and I made it a mile before I had to stop and walk…then I made it another half mile walking before I finally called it quits because I felt so sick. I am really hoping whatever it is goes away soon. I have to be better by my first race or I don’t know what I will do!!! :scared:

Hope you are feeling better!

No, I didn't get the job, my friend did so now she'll be switching stores :sad1:

So, I'm now trying for her position! So hopefully I'll get that one. I'm not too upset, I knew she had experience on me.

Good luck on getting your friends job!

Margie - hope Hagen is feeling better!

Last week was pretty awful as far as weather goes, we got 10 inches of snow Tues and Wed, it was melted by Friday, Saturday rained most of the day but Sunday was beautiful, as is today.

I am again a woman of leisure - I have quit my job with the census (the 8 week job that turned into 6 1/2 months) to have a week off to get caught up with all the stuff at home before we leave for Europe. It will be a busy week! But I will try to get here each morning this week - then I will be missing in action for a month!

Have a great day all!

I wonder if they distribute tshirts as part of the race fee or perhaps redundant?

Cypress "STREAK" 5k Road Race, 1st annual clothing-optional run to be held at Cypress Cove Nudist Resort, in Kissimmee, FL. Participants can wear as little or much as they wish, though appropriate foot protection is suggested. We are encouraging runners and spectators to bring a change of clothes with them, that way they can wear clothes to donate to Haiti earthquake victims at the starting line and STREAK down the race course. :) More details and event details to come....

Hi Team!

I ran 4 miles in 38:31 today to keep myself moving. We went out for a big dinner at Olive Garden and then saw Iron Man 2 last night. I ate way too much!

Sue~ Great job on your race!

Lynn~ Have fun on your trip! We discovered Off Kilter last year and love them! I bought two of their CD's. Did you see them last year and were you the lady dancing up front?

Jennifer~ I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT YOU FLOWERS!

Gerry~ We have to make plans to meet up at Everest Challenge and say hello! Are you running the STREAK?

-Mike :cool2:

Running nude, hummm, nope guess not.

I will however wish everyone a restful evening.

Dave:hippie:

So, tomorrow I have my next job interview. Hope I can nail it. But, my current manager and I have a Plan B in place already if I don't. Maybe that'll give me the confidence I need going in.

Good Morning Team!

Margie, You made my day. Thanks.
How's Hagen? Haven't heard you talk about the gym? Are you going or are the kids keeping you busy?

Lynn & Scott, Have a fantastic vacation!

Vicky, Are you out there?

Went to yoga last night & taking today off. My friend ran her first 10k race 2 weeks ago & did outstanding. We are celebrating our running achievements with icecream today during our lunch break. :woohoo:

Have a great day............Sue

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Cloudy & Showers again today – high of 65°

I have been Off Line since Saturday afternoon due to problems with my Internet connections.

Connie- Thanks! Hope you are feeling better today.
That is a lot of non-stop traveling hours! :scared1:

Dave-checked out the link you sent-
Very Imprssive Fast Race Walkers...I am just not that intense.
I like to walk for fun! :goodvibes

Hope- Hope you have a Great Interview! :goodvibes

Jennifer- Outstanding…new boyfriend and he is a runner!
Finding someone to share your love of running makes him extra special.
It's not the Gatorade - it being that thoughtful that is so nice.

Lynn- Snow! :scared1:
You guys must live on top of a mountain.
We will just get used to you being back with us and zip off you
guys go again! :grouphug:

Mike- I apologize for the incorrect time posted! :sad1:
I am sorry – not sure what happened, but I get the time posted from the official http://www.ltfrunwild.com/page/show/155037-illinois
I did correct and add your comments to the post.

Regina- :upsidedow

Sue- Congratulations!
WTG 4:25 is an awesome Full Marathon Time!
And a little  from DH was way worth more than a few minutes!

Vicky- How is your ankle? :flower3:

pixiedust: Connie (foot), Dave (Achilles), Jennifer (runners knees)
Kim (foot), Kirstie (arm), Lynn (knees), and Vicky (ankle)
pixiedust:

AFM: Special :thanks: for all the prayers, thoughts, and pixie dust!
My Little Hagen is a bit better-
PTL it looks like the enema, daily laxative, and diet will eventually
take care of the problems. The Pediatrician has been wonderful!
He still has problems, but not as much pain, he is smiling,
on the move again, and was so much happier yesterday.

Enjoy all the moments today might bring!
Connie, Dave, Denise, Eva, figment82, Gerry, Hope, Jack, Jennifer,
Kim, Kirstie, Lorelei528, Mary, Mike, Pam, Regina, Robert,
Scott & Lynn, Shannan, Sue, Taryn, and Vicky-

Good morning team! Sorry I've been MIA - I've been posting over on the weight loss thread but just generally busy with work and trying to get outside more.

Sue - Congrats on your marathon! What a fantastic time! I was thinking about you and a few other runners on Sunday morning! Are you going for the free DQ at Dundas Square today? It's too far of a walk now that my offices have moved closer to the Rogers Center (that still such a weird name).

Margie - I'm so glad to hear that Hagen is doing better! Tough situation for the little guy :( Give him a big hug for all of us! I'm up 0.7 lbs last week - I need more vegetarian meals! Training for my 30K starts this weekend so hopefully I can keep off everything that's been lost and not gain it back. What happend to your Internet?

Jennifer - Glad to hear the running date went well! That sounds like such a fun idea and definitely different than a typical dinner and movie!

Hope - Good luck on your job interview! Is it for the same company but different department? Keep us posted!

Dave - Any plans with Sally today? Wish her a happy birthday and send her our best! Hope she has a great day!!

Mike - Mmmm... Olive Garden! They packed up and moved out of Canada more than 10 years ago. We still go whenever we take trips to the US :) Did you like Iron Man 2? I thought Mickey Rourke's character was a little creepy - maybe he played him a little too well. Never followed the comic book though so I didn't know much about it going in.

Gerry - I don't know if I could do that race - I'd have to make sure I didn't know anyone there  And if I did, I'd be so  Well I guess that's one way to improve my 5K time!!

Lynn - And just as you're back with us - you're off again! Hope you and Scott have a blast in Europe! Keep posting with pics if you can during your trip!

Regina - Hope you're feeling better!

Connie - See your idea for the streaking group run wasn't too far off ;) How are things going with you?

AFM - I had a great workout last night with my PT - lots of metabolic exercises, a little bit of throwing a medicine ball around and free weights. I can't remember how we started talking about body weight but my WO partner wanted to know how much I weigh now. Long story short ... before I had a chance to answer, he says "What are you? 140?" Umm, no (I'm just over 134 lbs) ... but at least subtract 10 lbs from your guess so that I can feel better. Men!

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Hi Team!

Gerry~ We have to make plans to meet up at Everest Challenge and say hello! Are you running the STREAK?

-Mike :cool2:

Yeah, sounds great

I teamed with my DS 10

Not running the Streak--but surely stands out in a calendar of possible 5k's around central FLA. Be funny though?

Gerry

Good Morning Team!

Mike - no I was definately NOT the lady dancing up front at Off Kilter:lmao:

So, tomorrow I have my next job interview. Hope I can nail it. But, my current manager and I have a Plan B in place already if I don't. Maybe that'll give me the confidence I need going in.

Good Luck on your interview!

Margie - glad to hear Hagen is doing better! No we do not live on top of a mountain - we live in the plains - they just happen to be HIGH plains in Wyoming!

Yesterday was beautiful - today is foggy and is supposed to rain later. Now the wind has kicked up again!

Have a great day all!

Evening Team!

Margie~ I'm so happy to hear that Hagen is doing better! Give him a hug from our family! No big deal about posting the wrong time, maybe you got the gun time instead of the chip time? :confused3

Hope~ Good luck in your interview! It sounds like your boss is on your side, which always helps! :cheer2:

Vicky~ We liked Iron Man 2, but I felt it was a little chaotic as the story line went. It really set up for the future Avengers movie. At the very end after the credits, they found THOR's hammer in New Mexico. I pumped for more...

Regina~ How are you feeling? Ready for your race?

Dave & Sally~ I hope that you can find the time for a fun birthday celebration! :bday::bday:

AFM~ I set another new PR for 8 miles! 1:20:58 I'm either getting more fit or my watch is running slow. My average heart rate was only 81% which is the lowest it has been on a long run. Pace was 10:06, my old PR was 1:25:15 with a pace of 10:40. 25 Days until EVEREST!!!:woohoo:

Train on!! Mike :cool2:

I had my interview, no idea if it went well. It felt like the last one, so we'll see.

It is for the same company and same grocery store, I just would be going from seafood to deli. My current department manager loves me, thinks I'm a great asset and knows exactly why I'm doing what I am. He thinks it's a great career move for me to get the necessary experience to go on to bigger and better things.

Nick and I had a breakfast date after the interview. We had an IHOP open up recently. I might as well say it, "Hello, my name is Hope and I'm addicted to pancakes." So I had a small stack of glorious buttermilk sweetness. Then I played with fabric and did laundry. I worked on a quilt for someone near and dear to me, so someone else will get a fabric hug in a little while.

Big excitement, huh? popcorn::

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Hi everyone!

Went to the gym and ran 4 miles today. It was a great run today. Pace was slow bc I always go slow on TM and am not fast by any means, but it was a comfortable fun run. 5 days until my first race and 2 days until my lasik surgery! :cloud9: Busy week for me!

Margie- Thanks for the info on Robert. I am taking on a project at work that will occur in November and I would like to organize a 5K or something like that for it but I don’t know the first thing about organizing and executing a race! How do you like gu? It’s great to hear Hagen is doing better and all that stuff is helping! :woohoo:

Jennifer- How long have you been running and how long have you been a track coach? Did you meet the new boyfriend running? A running date is a great idea!

Mike- Sounds kinda scary to me because I am nervous about a 10 min surgery, let alone a 3 hour one! It’s amazing what doctors can do these days. Awesome time on your zoo 5K & new PR on your last run! You just keep getting better! WTG!! :cheer2: Tell Liz awesome job and congrats as well! :cheer2:Running the whole time is a great accomplishment! I’m feeling better. Not sure if I’m ready for the race or not. I had a rough run on Sun and missed my Sat run last week b/c I had to drive with DH to Utah (& back all in one day). Today was a great run, so we’ll see how it goes! My only goal at this point is to finish and I am 99.7% sure I can do that! I figure I can crawl across the finish line if I must, but I will finish!

Connie- That does sound like an interesting food choice. Is your P90X in yet?!?! What was your quick trip to Denver for?

Sue- Congrats on your marathon! Great job!:cheer2:

Lynn- Thanks! Nice to see you back, even if only for a brief moment. Is the weather usually that awful in WY in May??

Hope- I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get that job. Good luck! What is your plan B if plan A doesn’t pan out? What a wonderful DF!! So sweet to take you on a breakfast date after your interview. Definitely sounds like a Prince Charming to me. :upsidedow

Vicky- Thanks! I am feeling better. Can’t believe your WO partner! Doesn’t he know he should shoot under what he actually thinks it may be just to be on the safe side?!

Well that's it for me. Have a wonderful hump day everyone.
