Yay!! What a great play. I just knew it would win a ton of Tonys when I saw it.

Hey Briar Rose, aren't you happy that you took my advice and jumped on those Preview tickets??:D :D :D :D :D

Maybe a spoiler would be in order for this thread for the West Coast people. :)

I saw Tonys all over the stage when I saw Hairspray in previews.

you think Harvey will renew his contract in August? I don't know who they could get to replace him!

I remember when you saw it Reggie, you posted about how fabulous it was. Well deserved from the sounds of it!

I have tickets for the Boston production in October. Hope the touring company is as good as NY!

To be honest - I didn't hear of this play and only bought tickets because it was a package deal with the Lion King debut in Boston in July 2004. So I really lucked out!

I wonder this, too....

Pretty cool that DD's first Broadway show was this one! We loved it!

Sorry Jules. Are these shows being performed on the West Coast? I thought that they were only on Broadway.

Who knows if Harvey will renew his contract or not. DH and I were talking about who could replace him, and John Goodman's Linda Tripp impersonation sprung to mind.:p :p :p

It was such a kick to see John Waters in the audience during the broadcast. He was so gracious when I asked him to autograph my Playbill. I'd better get it framed.;)

I think they meant the TONY AWARDS BROADCAST. But, since that was LIVE, I would think that the West Coast audience was watching it simultaneously with the East Coast audience, just three hours earlier...

Nope, in California we get all the awards shows (except the Oscars since they switched to Sunday) on tape delay, so the winner was posted before the show even started airing out here. I've learned to not even get on the Dis if there is an award show or finale on TV that I am really into, as I don't want to accidently find out what happened before I've seen the show.

And even though the shows are on Broadway, there are many people from the west coast (and other parts of the country, I'm sure) who travel to NYC to see them and have an interest in the Tonys.

Thanks Jules for thinking about us West Coasters :D
