Haircuts for older kids?

We're leaving for The World later this month and I just realized that my DDs (10 and 6) both need haircuts. I know you can get them done in the Magic Kingdom, but all I've ever read about are first haircuts. Is it worth cutting into Disney time to have my girls' haircuts done there? Do they do anything magical for kids their ages? Thanks!

My son who is 19 gets his hair cut there every time he go to MK. They will use the gel and sprinkles on anyone if you ask.

Your girls are at a great age for haircuts. Of course any age is a good age. lol A friend of mine had her kids hair cut at MK (4, 6, and 8yo) and they all loved it, but her 6yo DD loved it the most and insisted on keeping it in for a few days until she was back at school. They did a great job with her hair and it looked beautiful!

As far as "special". no certificates of anything. But, even at 46, I like to get my haircut there. The WDW, IMO, do a much BETTER haircut than most off site places, and the price (I think I paid $17 last time plus tip) is certainly reasonable enough.

for the past two years now, my dd, 11, has had her back to school haircut by Michael. She loves it there and doesn't go too crazy with the colored gels/sprinkles but Mike gets here everytime with a little bit. Your girls will love it. My advice would be to get there early. It is first come, first served. I believe they open at 9 and close at 5.

Mom2Ashli, They do not take appointments. First come first served. It opens at 9, try and be there a little prior to that, there may already be short line.

If your girls have longer hair, they will can put their hair up in a princess hairstyle. The cost of a kids' haircut if $14, but I don't know what the cut off age is. An adult haircut is $17 or $18.

oh too cool. My DD has long hair and we are going for her 6th B-day and she would love her hair put in a Princess style. She will be sporty a Princess Dress that day and it would be perfect.
