What hair products do you recommend for coping with frizz in the summer heat & humidity? Been looking at photos from our last trip & my curly/wavy hair didn't cope well, lol!

I have wavy/frizzy hair which I straighten every day. My hair never used to hold up well in the heat but a few years ago I discovered Lee Stafford Poker Straight Dehumidifer spray and I swear by it. You style your hair as normal, then spray it over the top like a hairspray. Don't comb through or anything and it stops it from frizzing/waving. I love it.

You can have a look at some of my trip report pictures to see how good a job it does, if you like :thumbsup2

Thanks wilma-bride, that sounds like just what l need. At home l straighten my hair, don't use any product, but last time in Florida l used John Frieda Frizzease, but after a couple of hours the humidity had got the better of it, lol!

Wilma-bride just checked out your 2013 trip report - :thumbsup2 for that hair product & now l want to go on a Dinsey cruise too. :goodvibes

as someone who gave up trying to hide my curls years and years ago, i say go natural!
after all, Merida does and it looks great on her.

seriously, when i wear my hair down i use paul mitchel super sculpt to keep my hair curly as opposed to a big ball of frizz (long hair curls...my hair is about shoulder blade length, but with curls it's neck length)..

but in orlando, i tend to pull it back. i still use the paul mitchel - to keep the frizz in check.

and why do i go natural - my own little rebellion against straight hair hegemony.. :)

I'm in the same 'club' :thumbsup2. I can't remember what I have done in the past at humid places - think I tied hair up?? But, I don't always straighten my hair at home - partly because of time sometimes and partly because I don't like to do it all the time (not good for hair!). But, what I do is always use straightening frizz-ease products on it as if I am going to straighten, and I find that my hair, while it goes curly, the curl is looser (more wave like) and less frizzy. My hair can go like ringlets if it's dried the right way without these products! :rolleyes1

I am planning on trying this in Florida as I honestly don't think I'll be straightening my hair every day. But, if I can have it wavy without the frizz then I am happy!

Some people swear by beach babe/sea salt hair products for that more natural wave look, minus frizz, but whenever I've tried them (and I've tried about 3 now), my hair looks matted and not v nice tbh. Not a fan!

My hair is the same - at home I just tend to wear it up most of the time and think we will do the same on holiday. I find that having it round my face/neck just makes me really hot and I think I'll be quite hot enough without that added on!!

I tend to 'let it go' curly during the day and combat the friss with Frizzease products. I also die it back as I have really thick hair and I get way too hot with it down

If me and my DH go out somewhere nice in the evening, I do straighten it and make a dash between DVC room and the car/taxi. I never risk a bus wait :goodvibes:goodvibes

My hair is too short to tie up and I have to keep straightening it or it goes wild. I use a mixture of Matrix smooth shampoo and conditioner, fizz ease intense serum, straightening spray, more serum when it's dry and frizz ease hairspray. My hair products need their own baggage allowance!! ;) it's still a mess most of the time so photos at long distance only!

Thanks for all your replies. At least l know l'm not alone in my quest to combat the frizz. :hippie:
