I did my sister's hair last year for prom and I thought it looked really nice. I got a clip that had a pink flower on it cause her dress had pink in it. Then I put her hair in curlers overnight, parted it on the side and clipped the flower in. So easy, and cute too. Just my opinion, but I hate paying a ridiculous amount for a hairdo when I could do it myself.
Also, nowadays an updo seems to be the norm I think half up, half down hair is beautiful. Maybe just do a couple small braids and then pull them off your face and curl the rest.
I have no idea. The kids wear nice clothes, dresses for girls, pants and button up shirt for guys but not prom attire. The dance is at the school. My guess is she will wear her hair down and straightened.
Thank you everyone, my DD14 is going on Saturday and I really don't know how to fix her hair. She keeps saying I don't know how I want it, but I think it would be to late now to make an appointment to take her and get it done.
So I think we are going to try and do it ourselves. Wish me luck.
At the my homcoming dances i wore my hair straight or with a simple bow or headband some people wore there hair in an updo but alot of girls just straighten by the time its 11 every one's hair is a disaster.
DD16 insists she wants to wear her hair straight. She has Greek hair, full of body, dark & lustrous and lots of it. She has an edgy, layered hairstyle that is really kickin' with skinny jeans and a zebra print hoody. I just wish she would let me curl it and pull it up in a half up/half down do. She has done that once and the result was stunning. She'll be wearing a form-fitting brown spagetti strap brown satin dress with gold & amber beading at the empire waist. I know she'd be drop-dead gorgeous with her hair "done." ah well, you couldn't tell me anything either when I was 16.
DD17 is getting her hair done for the Homecoming dance (her last one--she is a senior ), but isn't really sure how she wants it done. Most times she just gives her stylist a "general" idea & then leaves it in her hands. She has been very happy with the way it has turned out everytime, so she has no trouble trusting her stylist's judgement!
Of all of the pictures I've seen from last weekend's homecoming...the girls all wore it down...similar to what they wear day to day with a little panache. One girl did get it done at the stylist....let me see if I can find a picture. Her mom took a picture of the hair and told it to "smile"
Her hair is the one dead center
OP, you can do your DD's her yourself!! The internet is your friend!! Or go to Target and find a headband/ clip/ something that matches her dress and accessorize!
