Does anyone know what kind of hair dryers are currently in the staterooms on the Magic? I'm packing for our sailing and would love to not bring my own. Haven't been on the Magic since before it was "reimagined," but I have bad memories of wall-mounted blowdryers in the past--useless! The hair dryers on the Fantasy are wonderful. (Sorry if this is a repeat, but the most recent answer to my search was from 2014.)

They have regular hairdryers in the drawer by the desk. Note...you MUST use the round outlet for the hair dryer. The hair dryer has a round plug so just put it in the round outlet. they worked fine. No need to bring your own. I am pretty sure they are the same as the Fantasy (just got off the Fantasy in August) but will double check when I go on the Magic on the 17th of this month. We were on the first sailing on the Magic after the reimagining and I remember good hair dryers. Hate those vacuum hoses ones in the bathroom!!!

Our Magic cruise in May there was the hairdryer in the desk (that must be plugged in there) as well as the "old" one in the bathroom.

Ohhhhh so they come with a defuser too? That would be one less thing to pack!

You guys made my day! And thanks for the pictures, too! I'm already overpacked, and bringing a hair dryer is just a pain, no matter how small.

We just got off the Magic and the hair dryer was horrible. Took forever to dry my daughter's hair. Wished I had brought our own!

I agree! My daughter has baby thin hair and it took sooooo long to dry! I was disappointed because I heard so many good things about the BaByLiss.

If the hair dryer wasn't working it was either a bad hair dryer or it wasn't plugged into the dedicated outlet for the hair dryer. This happens to lots of us--happened to me on my first cruise. Someone has a photo of the specific (one and only) outlet you use the hairdryer with.
Edited to add: the Babyliss is a great hair dryer. It gets very very hot if it's plugged into the correct outlet.

I agree with above poster. The hairdryer is great (at least on my thick hair). It does have to be plugged into the round outlet to work properly. If it was and did not work properly then it was probably defective.
