I am thinking of getting my daughters 1st haircut in MK this Aug, Can anyone tell me roughly how much it will cost and if they do a good job?:confused3

They do an excellent job! Both DD8 and DS4 received their first hairdcuts at the barber shop. If I'm remembering correctly, the haircuts were about $14. We paid $20 for each kid. The barbers were full of magic, sprinkling pixie dust and showering the kids with bubbles and stickers to keep them entertained. They both received Magical Moments certificates and "1st haircut" Mickey ears to commemorate the occasion.

Request Michael, if he's available. He's fantastic! :)

All three of my kids had there 1st haircuts in Disney. All were great cuts and great experiences, each different. One time one of the counrty bears came in to help. Another time we were serenated by the barber shop quartet. The cost was about 15$. Each got a certificate saying it was their first haircut, where, when , who etc... They also got Mickey ears that had My First haircut embroidered on it. It has become a tradtion for the kids to get there haircut at Disney. My 2 DS's hair is really long right now and desperate for a cut, but they want to wait until next week when we are back at Disney!

Thanks for the info-that sounds fab!!! Will def have it done there, sorry to be a pain but is there normally a queue? Or a best time to go? Oh im really excited for my DD now!

Oh we would love to do this too. it won't be her first haircut but real fun anyway!!!!

They do a WONDERFUL job and are so patient with little ones. DS had his 1st and 2nd haircut there, and next trip we take DD for her 1st haircut there. You won't regret it. :)

We had the best luck going 1ST THING in the morning - fewer lines than I saw the rest of the day - although I'd imagine it depends a great deal on generally how busy the park is that day.

I second the recommendation of Micheal, (he says his mom couldn't spell, lol). He's great, especially with wee ones. How old are your daughters? I'm sure they'll love it. The $14 + tip is a great deal for Baby's first haircut: haircut, pixie dust, Mickey ears, the certificate, memories. It's still a good deal, if it's not your child's first haircut: haircut, pixie dust and of course the memories.

we took DS2 back in Feb for his first haircut. We just walked right in around 1PM. I'm sure this does not happen on a regular basis! We were so excited and they were wonderful with him. He cried and screamed the whole time   but they just kept going, trying to distract him. I don't remember how much is cost but I do remember that they do not accept the room charge. Credit Card or cash ONLY! I had to track down my Mom b/c I only carry the room key/charge! How embarrassing!

This is the cutest thing, when DD got her 1st hair cut (and only I may add) the quartet wa sin there and sang to her---I have some cute pics! I will try to find.

DS will be getting his 1st cut there too at the end of September---he needs one now but I am holding out!

I forgot to mention who we saw for DS's 1st cut: Penny. She was wonderful, and if we see her there again we definitely will request her. :goodvibes

We went last September. Tried different times of the day and there was always a line. We ended up just waiting in it. There were two ladies in there. It's a tiny shop . . . only two stations.

They put stickers on our 18 month old. We didn't opt for the colored gel or sprinkles in his hair because it was just too hot out. Besides I thought I had read that the color in the gel can transfer off onto us or our clothes. Not sure on this. Maybe someone else knows.

When we were all done, we were told we could not use our credit card. So we paid cash. I think it was $14 plus tip if I remember right. The picture at the bottom of my post is Dustin all done with his haircut. There may be a couple more pictures of the hair cut in the report.

We did get the ears, a certificate, and some clippings. It was really fun!

Have fun!

We also had Micheal! He is wonderful with little ones! He took his time and I don't think DS even knew someone was cutting his hair. Micheal collect all the hair clippings and when he was finished he added some pixiedust and wrapped them up for us to keep.

DS's 1st hiarcut on his 1st birthday! Here are some pictures.

I can not wait to take Gson down just before he turns 3 to get his 1st hair cut that is if I can stand to cut off his blonde curls lol Next year prolly late Oct or early Nov don't want to have to deal with winter stuff at disney

I'll do the same with his little brother just before he turns 3 spring 09 he has a June bday so prolly early May for him.

::yes:: Michael did my son's first haircut and he was awesome. My son is on the autistic spectrum so I was really worried about how it would all work out but he was sooooooo good with Luke. We left him a ridiculous tip, I hope he realizes just how much he made our day. Beverlene did my oldest daughter's first haircut and she did an awesome job too. A bit easier since DD was four but still. I would just be VERY clear on what you want for the haircut. My youngest DD, DS's twin, had the only negative experience. The woman was good with her, but I said "Absolutely NO bangs" Well, she just heard bangs and went ahead and cut them  We really hated them. I was about to cry, DH looked something like this  The woman turned to me and said "I thought you said bangs?" and I was like, " I said NO bangs" She apologized and offered to stop but since I didn't want DD walking around like a maniac with half a haircut until they grew out, we let her finish. It's been almost a year and her bangs are sort of grown out (we've never cut or trimmed since). I suppose that that could happen anywhere, but we were upset. Overall though, given our two other really super positive results, we would try it again. Oldest DD can't wait to go back and have her hair cut there again

We also had our son's first haircut at the BarberShop. The wait was very long and their really was no set way to tell who was in line first. Some people became very angry.

We waited anyway and I was glad that we did. My DH did have to go across the street a few times to the candy store to get "Spots", Disney's version of M&M, to keep the little guy happy while we waited for his turn. Once he got in the chair he did great. The stickers worked wonders and we got some great video footage of a very special 1st haircut.

We did my 4 yr old there this past week and it was GREAT. He normally screams bloody murder kicking and screaming and hitting the entire time while I try to hold flying limbs down from anyone getting hurt lol.. but he didnt cry at all. The lady doing it was FABULOUS!!! We will be taking him there for every haircut!!! Im taking ds1 there on Monday :) His 2nd haircut.. we didnt live here for his first :( that makes me sad! lol. oh well.. Anyways, its an amazing job she did.. his hair is perfect.. even, cute, and fits his face well. I paid $14 but ended up tipping $6 because I was mesmerized by how well he did with her lol

I found some pics and had to share. DD is now almost 5 with hair down to her butt, this was the only cut she ever had, I am going to get her a trim when DS gets his 1st cut in September.
