Hair and makeup for MK photo shoot

I understand these photo shoots are held around 5:00 am until park opening.

How do you get your hair and makeup done so early?

Any past brides with suggestions?

From what I have been reading both on the disney site and from other couples going to disney to be married and getting this package usually the photo shoots are done around 8 or 9 am that gives time for the sun to come up and have the sunlight to make everything more magical and it also helps with making the pictures better, sinlight in the morning seems to be a soften light and makes way more better pictures. If that is the case I think you usually need your hair and makeup done by 1 hr before the shoot depending on where you are staying to allow for travel time and meet the photographer before your shoot begains. I think most by what I have seen start hair and makeup around 5 or 6 am just to give plenty of time. You don't have to be out of the park till around 1030 am if the park opens at 11 am. Depending on when your wedding is this may or may not be accurate since the 50th anniversary of Disney is going on and they have special functions and such and the parks may open earlier on the day you plan it. You would probably have to talk to your EM in order to find out f you can do it on the day you wanted to. Hope this helps some.

My Mk Photo shoot will start at 5am, if it is not the honeymoon shoot. The photos I am talking about are the ones in your wedding dress. Gabby, I think what you are talking about is the honeymoon shoot or maybe the Epcot shoot. I believe that the latest MK shoot that is in your wedding gown is about 6am. You can have someone come to your room to do your hair and makeup. I am hiring Lisa of Lisasmagicalweddings to come and do mine. It is more expensive to do it at that time then when you normally would have your wedding. Lisa is showing up at our room at the Poly at 3 am. YIKES!

We are doing the MK photo shoot and our appointment is at 6:00 am! Like Jonette, I am hiring Lisa to come to the hotel room to do my hair and makeup. She is coming to our room at 4:00 am. I am getting a little more sleep, but I will most likely be so excited I won't be able to sleep that extra hour Hope that helps a bit!

Great! I had no idea that you could hire someone to come that early. It looks like that is what I will try.

I don't even have my date confirmed yet, I am just pre-planning.

I just verified my info with Rosie today, and my shoot is at 6 am. (She said that's the time the car will come pick us up.) Does the shoot go fairly quickly? Karen my co-ordinator said we'd be back by 8:30am, in time to scoot over to the Poly for our 9am wedding! Hopefully everything goes smoothly that day.

I haven't decided quite yet on who to book for my hair and make up. I'm thinking of booking Anna from Makeover Majic. Has anyone used her before? She seems resonable. $115 for the hair and make up and an extra $15 for coming out early. Is Lisa fairly reasonable as well?

Apparently Lisa has different quotes for the MK photo shoot. Here is part of the email that she sent me:

My rates are $65 for short hair (up to shoulder) and $80 for long hair and $65 for make up. For flower girls it's $45 9 years of age and under. For the MK photo shoot it will be $200 and it will be 4am start. I also do trial runs it will be $65 (Hair only). Please let me know when If you would need a trial run. These rates are for brides and bridesmaids etc... whether is it an updo or down.

Wow that's strange! when did you get them quotes from her? maybe her prices went up? I only booked her around 2 months ago.

My rates are $65 for hair and $50 for make up. For the MK photo shoot it will be $175 and it will be 4am start. As for your trial run it will be the same for your wedding day and if you just want to do just your hair it will be $65.

Lets see, I can't remember when I called, but I think I sent the deposit in February...? Yeah she may have gone up a bit, but even if she did I think 200$ for her to come out at 4:00 am to do my hair and makeup is a great deal! Just for the convenience!

If you use Lisa I jsut got updated prices today as I requested information for my DB2B her rates are $80 for hair and $65 for makeup. $45 for girls under 9 ie flowergirls. $200 for MK photo session with a 4am start. Trail runs are $65 and if any male want hair done its $50.

Wow guess she has put her prices up. I'm glad I booked her when I did and kept the email with the prices she gave me!
