Hi - I'm Nicky and I'm just back from a seven day cruise round Northern Europe on the Disney Magic.

I'm going to try and write my first trip report - I've got navigators to upload too. But I'm a bit technologically challenged so you might have to bear with me as I figure it all out! :)

So .... the adventurers for our trip.

There's me, Nicky, I'm 37 and from Norfolk, England and I'm a complete Disneyaholic - I first went to Orlando aged 10 and fell in love with it all - it's definitely my happy place. This will be my second Disney cruise.

Also joining me was my lovely husband - Tom. He's such a great guy and pretty much lets me choose all our holidays! He'd not cruised before and has only been to Disney Paris and a day at California. (Although I'm changing that in October - 2 weeks in Disney world - so exited!!)

Plus our little one Sophie - she's 13 months and a bundle of energy! She can't quite walk on her own but loves to be on her feet.

Here's a rubbish plane selfie!

Also joining us was my 7 year old Amelia. She's a brilliant little girl and old beyond her years. She lives with us 99% of the time so tom is papa to her.

Hi Nicky, I'm so glad you're starting this report. We're leaving for Copenhagen 6/8 and will board the Magic on 6/11 for the Northern European cruise. I have so many questions. How was the weather? What excursions did you take? What was the Castaway Club stateroom gift. Please, please any advice will be welcomed. TIA

I'll try and get as much on as I can before you go!

The weather was very changeable - sunny and mild (for us brits anyway!) in Tallinn and Stockholm but really cold and rainy most others - it did actually hail in Helsinki! But it didn't spoil anything and the pools were heated and people were swimming.

We mainly did our own thing in port but we did take a walking tour in st Petersburg which was good. It was really easy to get around places on your own though. There were shuttle buses provided at each port into the cities (free) but you didn't need them mostly.

Our castaway cay gift was a blue rucksack - I'll post a pic later!

Thanks for the update. we're from Miami, Florida so it's probably freezing for us, won't let that bother us though. Glad to hear the walking tour in St. Petersburgh was good, we're doing that one and then the ballet in the evening.

Day 0 - off to the airport

We had an 8:45 am flight Saturday morning to Copenhagen so rather than get the girls up at some horrible hour in the morning and risk a whingey first day we decided to book a last minute hotel at the airport for the Friday night.

We were flying out of London stansted which is sooo convenient for us as it's only an hour and a half drive from where we live. We managed to get a holiday inn express for the night and even better it was free as my dad used to use them so often for business he's built up about a million free reward nights and kindly donated one to us!

After a busy day of packing (I horrify everyone I know with my last minute preparations!) we picked up the girls from school / nursery and gave them a quick dinner before heading off.

The hotel was perfectly adequate for what we needed and was nice and clean.
