Had another "Awww" moment here

Last night DS24 came over to visit and take his sister, DD17, out for sushi. While he was here it showed us his latest thrift store finds--suede coat, vest, & dress pants for $10. He was so proud of himself and we were stunned--is this the same boy who spent money like he had a cash cow out back? And THEN, before he left he took DH aside and told him he had been talking with a friend and doing some thinking. He came to the conclusion that he had treated us pretty badly when he was in HS(he did!) and he was sorry and wanted forgiveness. You could have knocked me over with a feather.

Universe? I don't know what you did with my old son, but I think I really like this year's model.

I don't know if you're Christian (or Jewish, since this is in Torah as well) but the Bible says "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it..."

I take a lot of hope from the highlighted part!!!!

Isn't that the truth! It was not looking good for a long time there--this is the child that told me every day for 5 years that he wished I would wake up dead. I would say I hope he has one just like himself, but I don't think he has what it takes. I wouldn't wish that on anybody!
