Had a great trip. Here's my review of HOJO with a few pictures.

is there computers we can access while we are there?

I think I remember seeing a couple of computers available for guests to use in the lobby. Like a little business center area or something like that. I think....

Um, let me see if I can find something about this.

Okay, I went on expedia, and it says: Complimentary high-speed internet is available at the Internet kiosk located in the lobby.....

There's a picture here somewhere of the kiosk area. Just click on "Photos".

Hope that helps you out.

I would love to know if they really have these... we have been debating on weather to buy a laptop for our trip so that we can download our pictures off of our camera just in case so we dont loose them

Well if that's your purpose in using a computer, you wouldn't be able to use public computers for that purpose. Well, not unless you had a card reader, then uploaded the pictures straight from the card reader software to a site like shutterfly. But since it wouldn't be your hard drive, using that method you would not have the images in any way other than on whatever website you used.

Though, if they'd let you, you could bring a card reader and a portable external hard drive, and move them from one to the other...

But I would think a laptop would be easier, OR just buy SCADS of memory cards so you don't run out of them. :)

hmm seems like we will just have to chance dont being able to empty the memory card... I am sure we will be fine its a new camera and memory card so I am just being weird haha thanks for the info however:thumbsup2

1. The Big Breakfast Debate- Our standards here at the HoJo are really high. When we set out to do something- we want to do it the very best that we possibly can. We don't feel that we have the facilities or the experience in Food Service Preparation to give our guests the kind of Continental Breakfast experience that we would want to- which is why we've stocked up our Gift Shop with lots of quick breakfast items. It is also why we brought Mimi's in right across the street- they have such an extensive menu with generous portions at reasonable prices, and we are not going to be able to compete with that- so we don't.

This sounds like an "eat at Mimi's" sales pitch to me. And I'm not buying it. ;) A free continental breakfast, is not a breakfast buffet and is not the same as a sit down meal at Mimi's. Now maybe you have some kind of contractual obligation that says you can't compete with Mimi's... so there's nothing you can do. So I'm guessing it's something you can't do, or just don't want to bother with. You have three items that people stay there for: the location, the kid pool and hot tub so at this point you can get away with not having a cont breakfast.

When I stayed at Hojo's we didn't eat at Mimi's. Not once. There's no way I would have taken the amount of time it takes to do a sit down breakfast (not to mention the $20 by the time you add in taxes and tips). What I want is something quick: a bagel with cream cheese, a bit of OJ. That's what a cont breakfast is. It's something that takes 5-10 minutes and I'm out the door and headed into the parks. It's not 45 minutes of being waited on and served.

So, I understand if it's something that Hojo's just can't do because of Mimi's, but to say you can't do it well enough is just an excuse in my mind. Go check out Carousel Inn's cont breakfast. People on here have talked about how it's one of the better ones and it is nothing fancy it all! But it serves the purpose of those of us looking for a fast, light breakfast.

Ha! I suppose it does sound a bit like a sales pitch, but it honestly isn't.

Still, our Gift Shop does provide these quick breakfast items- and I think that for right now, our GM is satisfied with this set up. He might choose to revisit it in the future, but at the moment- the Microwave issue is the most pressing of the two suggested.

But these are great suggestions, Brenda, and I will definitely keep them in mind so that I can recommend them when he's ready to look at this issue again! :]

Hi RuthieT!

You can definitely use the guest computers at the Front Desk for checking email and printing boarding passes and things like that- but I don't think that we have them set up for uploading pictures. So, I would absolutely agree with some of the other suggestions and say that bringing extra memory cards is probably the best way to go!

Hope this helps!
