AT GREAT AMERICA IN SANTA CLARA CA!! And it was called a Dole Whip and not some cheap ripoff. The company that owns Knotts Berry Farm bought this park last fall and this was the first weekend I was able to go check out the "new" place. (nothing changed really) except at the food court. I saw Dole Whip and had one. Exactly the same. Anyone else get Dole Whips at other places other than DL? Maybe this is nothing new and I have been missing them all over town.

I used to work at that park, I drove the Vortex and White Water Falls, when Paramount owned it.

Still says Paramounts. Nothing changed at all that I could see... I was hoping for Camp Snoopy to replace Spongebob but I guess not this year.

I worked at a yogurt/ice cream shop in HS and we sold the real Dole Whips. They are made with a base similar to frozen yogurts which you mix with water & then freeze in a frozen yogurt/soft serve machine. I remember we had vanilla, strawberry and of course pineapple.

I'm here in Hawaii and my kids had dole whips a few months ago at the Dole Plantation, it's about a 40 min drive from me. (I don't care for the stuff though  )

wow, Great America...I remember when it was Marriott's Great America...

Me too!

I grew up going to "Marriott's"

Had a few great school trips and a fun date or two at that park back in high school.

Now I live so far away...

:goodvibes I always call it Marriotts Great America.:sad2: I was checking it on line last week. I thought it said Six Flags. Maybe I am just confused.:confused3 My DSS gets to go there for B-day parties and field trips. Lucky.

I know me too! But after Marriotts sold it to the city of Santa Clara, then few years later it went to Paramount. Last year Paramount sold it to Cedar Fair that owns many parks across the nation including Knotts Berry Farm.

I miss the Looney Tunes which is what it was in the 70's. Then Hannah Barbera. (Yogi Bear, Flintstones etc..) Now it's Spongebob. Blah....

I hope it goes to snoopy but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

They added a great water park in the park. It's all Crocodile Dundee themed.

We have a park here in Virginia called Kings Dominion that used to be owned by Hanna Barberra, too. They used to have Smurf ice cream! It was the best.

Now it's owned by Paramount and it's all Nickelodeon. I got my picture taken with Jummy Neutron! LOL

My ds would be soooo jealous! He loves jimmy neutron. He's also in to that annoying spongebob! What I think is so cute is that his real favorites are the classic old cartoons that they play on boomerang. He watches huckelberry hound, the old scooby doo, looney toons, etc. I think he kinda has an "old soul". :)

The Dole Whip Soft Serve Dry Mix used at the Disney parks and the Dole Plantation is available to anyone. It's sold by Precision Foods, Inc. As they say on their web site:

Dole soft serve is proudly sold at Disneyland®, Walt Disney World® and the Dole® Plantation in Hawaii, as well as many other popular tourist destinations across the country. But any operator with a soft serve machine is encouraged to try Dole soft serve.
I'm surprised that more people don't sell it. But I'm glad they don't. It makes the ones sold by Disney more special.

I love Boomerang. It's the only place DH can watch Dexter's Laboratory. I wish they showed Powerpuff! :happytv: Genndy Tartakovsky's cartoons are too cool. :thumbsup2
