Please be aware if you or you have friends/family who work on farms, have birds, cows, cats or possibly even dogs who are also susceptible. Also it's a good idea to avoid drinking raw milk.

Seems the jury is still out on regular pasteurized milk

Sadly I don't think most people will actually hear about this OR even if they do, will do anything different...so hopefully it isn't going to spread to humans easily...but the mortality rate is over 50% in animals :oops:
 
The facts are that while H5N1 is widespread in birds and becoming more common in cattle and some other mammals, there has only been a single human case in the United States - and he just had pinkeye. The CDC guidelines are for people exposed to sick or dead animals, not the general public. It is something to keep an eye on, but not something to spread panic about.
