Hello dis'ers! I am not sure if this is where i should post or not, but i am a little nervous, and hoping i can find someone that has dealt with the same issue.... I just got back from WDW on Sunday, and was diagnosed with the H1N1 flu on tuesday. I feel like a truck has just completely run over me. very sore throat, very high temp, and weak and tired... I just wanted to know if anyone else has suffered with this flu, and how long did it take you to recover?? Thanks for an imput! :goodvibes

My son was diagnosed on Monday (symptoms showed up in middle of the night), and he is feeling better for the first time today. Our doctor said that 3-4 days of feeling sick has been the average that she has seen.

Can you tell me what your first symptoms are? Did they come gradually or all at once? I've been feeling like a sitting duck for H1N1 with my son, and am curious how it has presented for other people. Thanks!

I hope you are feeling better soon. This is a horrible flu. I'm so glad it came after your trip.

My first symptoms were a sore throat, and my fever jumped very quickly. When i was diagnosed yesterday it was 102.0 Now i am very weak, body aches and a terrible headache... In my case the sore throat was the only thing i was feeling for maybe 6-7 hours, then the fever, headache, and body aches came fairly quickly.

Thank you very much, and i hope your son feel's better soon also. At least from what my doctor told me, once you have had this, your body becomes immune to the virus, so it's a one time shot! I guess if there's an up side to it, that would be it! lol.

Actually, you can have the H1N1 flu more than once.

I just got back from WDW on Sunday, and was diagnosed with the H1N1 flu on tuesday.

You should be aware that the definitive test for swine flu is a molecular test called the real time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) which, at this time is primarily available at state health department laboratories and the CDC. It's very likely many people being diagnosed by their physicians as having H1N1 really have seasonal flu.

If you have not been diagnosed using the above test, you should definitely plan on getting the H1N1 vaccination when it is available, as you probably have not had H1N1.
