I am a creature of habit, as anyone here who has read my posts knows.
I have been going to the same barber shop for the past 53 years, since I was 3 Fourth owner, :lmao: but the same shop, a few blocks from my parents house, but 6 miles from my house. My parents are gone now, I sold their house in July. My wife thought it was stupid to drive 6 miles each way to another area to pay $10 for a hair cut, when there are 4 barber shops within blocks of my house that charge $6 to $10.

I tried a new shop today. Did a little research, and the shops within a mile of my house charge $6 to $24. The shop I picked is the closest to my house and charges $7. I like the cut and the shop so I may be a customer there for the rest of my life, or until they close. Guys, what do you pay for a hair cut, and how did you pick your barber shop.

We pay $14 at the barber. That is for 12 and up.

I really don't know why my dh picked that one, but I know he keeps going back because they give you a massage.

(you may want to fix the poll so the amounts do not overlap)

I'm not a guy, but my husband pays $0. He likes his hair cut with clippers so a few years back we bought a set and I do cut it myself every couple weeks.

Ditto. Used to go to Great Clips and they told me I should buy a clipper and do it myself. I was amazed how easy it is. My wife has to do the back but I can do everything else myself.

$18 + $5 for a tip. Same girl for the last 20+ years. Same price for many years. I just always bring the same. Asked one time a few months back if that was still the current price and she said not to worry about that :lmao:

I've never paid for a haircut and i'am 44. My mom paid for haircuts into my teens and then my first girlfriend was in cosmetology school when I met her, between dating her and my wife the girlfriends always cut my hair, and now my wife does.

My hubby pays $16.00 I buzz my son myself. If I could master a flat cut for DH we could save a bit more.

$0 here. Got a neat swiveling head cutter/trimmer a while back and can cut my hair in about 10 minutes anytime I need to. 5/6 on the top, and 3/4 on the sides. My wife trims up the back of my neck every second cut or so.

$$$ in my pocket.

$13 before tip. List price is $15 but I get a $2 discount due to belonging to the same business chamber as the barber.

My dh & ds13 pay 17 at the Hair Cuttery around the corner. They do a decent job and they're happy.

Ds17 has very straight & very thick hair. When someone botches it, it's very apparent. (With ds13 it's wavy and easier to hide any unevenness.) We have tried many places for him but he finally found 1 particular stylist at the same Hair Cuttery that dh goes to but she is booked up for 2 weeks out constantly. We make the next appt on our way out so it's easy. She charges $20 and we tip her $5.

As kids, my brother & sister were traumatized with awful, butchered haircuts by our mother, usually the night before picture day. :scared1: I promised myself I would never do that to my kids. I plan ahead and get them a haircut approx. 1 week before picture day.

My husband goes to Great clips. I think it's 14.00 - maybe 16.00.

My Dad lives in MN, his cost 10.00 at the local Barber.

I remember this because when I visited, his sideburns and neck were crooked and when I mentioned he needed a new barber he said he didn't care for only 10.00 and the guy who did it was going to retire soon so then he'd switch to another fellow at the Barber Shop. LOL

DH pays $14 for the barber, and the boys either go there, or to a cut-ups type of place when they wear their hair longer - $15. Usually tip $5 either place. I don't know if there is a place here that cuts for under $14 - if there was, that's where DH would go! :rotfl2:

DS16 has been going to the same barber since he was 2, and I honestly don't know what the current price is..:rotfl: It was $16 when I used to take him but now he goes himself every 5-6 weeks and I just give him a $20.

Well I don't think 6 miles is gonna make or break your gas budget. I am assuming you take side streets around town, DH drives all over and he stops at different points and gets a hair cut.

Jealous of these prices! My husband gets a cut every other week. $15-17 for cut + tip. We also have 2 boys that need cuts every 4-6 weeks that get charged roughly the same.

SO pays $25 with tip every two weeks for a cut and shape up. They shape up the beard too.

XH takes DS every two weeks too. I'm assuming he pays around $20. It's his cousins shop.

They have to go often. Latinos with dark hair that gross fast.

I usually go to Great Clips where the regular price is $14 but they often send out coupons for $9.99 haircuts.
