If it is, you can count me in. Although Toro's stories are not my "cup of tea", the visuals and directing style is second-to-none (in my opinion). This is a match made in heaven.

[The Disney Movie Review]

Yup... It's true. Ryan Gosling is supposed to be in the main role. A few months ago they went to Disneyland together and checked out the ride. I think it will be interesting. Essentially it looks to be Disney's first horror movie.

This will be insanely good! I was one of the few fans of the original haunted mansion movie, so the fact there's an adult version coming out, it'll be epic!

I saw him talk about this in 2010 at Comic Con, it just keeps getting pushed back. Hopefully now that they actually have people set up for it, it will get made. Guillermo del Toro has a ton of Disney memorabelia including several Hatbox Ghost models. I love Hellboy and Pacific Rim, really liked the look of Pan's Labyrinth although the story was a bit dark. I haven't seen Crimson Peak yet, but I want to. I'm hopeful he can finally make a good Disney movie based off a ride...

I'm with you. I hope it's good. Crimson Peak was an awesome movie in terms of visuals, sets, and wardrobe. That's where it ended for me though. I wasn't a fan of the story, it felt slow and boring. Hopefully you'll find some enjoyment in it though as film is subjective and that's just what I got from seeing it.

It has been in the works for years but seems to keep getting stalled. I know it is a passion project for him so hoping it finally gets off the ground at some point.

I heard one issue was that Disney was asking for too many script revisions. Guillermo del Toro wrote several scripts and none have been approved. So it got shelved. Looks like he may be working on it again.

Right now this movie is in development limbo we shall see if it plays out
