We are getting married at the Yacht Club Gazebo and a lot of our guests are not staying around the boardwalk, my question is how has everyone handled their transportation to and from the wedding?

I really dont want to rent the bus for almost $600. Should they be responsible for their own transportation?

Thanks

I am using the bus but I don't see anything wrong with them using their own transportation. They could take a Disney Transportation bus to Epcot from whatever hotel they are staying in and then hop on the bus to the Yacht Club.

I had to have a bus for the Epcot part of the day, but for the rest of the day, we decided to shell out for the bus because only a few of our guests had ever been to WDW.

We didn't want them to have to hassle with changing buses at a park (and potentially arriving late because they didn't realize how long that takes). Also, depending on when your event begins/ends, the park buses might not even be running.

There are other options besides buses, depending on how many guests you have. There are smaller, cheaper buses, limos, towncars and even vans! Talk to your wedding planner about alternatives - if s/he understands that this is a big issue for you, s/he will help you find alternatives :thumbsup2

We also chose to do the busses, although we really didn't have a choice because our reception was at the LS. The other thing that you might want to consider is whether you want your guests to be using park transportation in their nice wedding clothes. If they don't mind, then I don't see a problem with that. Also, if they will have rented cars (or have their own car), then I don't see a problem with not using the busses.

Another thing to consider is the location of your reception. Is it at the YC as well? How easy would it be for them to get from the ceremony location to the reception location?

HTH! :)

We are having guests use their own transportation. Most of our families go to disney often enough that they knew to rent a car but for the few people that didnt know other family members rented mini vans to take everyone around.
